Smile Does anyone know of any good cookbooks for 8+ year olds? I have beginner kids cookbooks but they're a bit too basic for my girls now!

They want something a bit more adventurous than fairy cakes, some good easy main courses would be good!

TIA! Big Grin

I seem to remember that Marks & Spencer had a couple of good books which were aimed at younger cooks.

Hi EllisRose

Very personal view here, but I believe that young people can step up and produce surprisingly good food if they are taught and monitored on the basics. Years back I taught both my nieces when they were around 9/10 years.

I would suggest you invest in a copy of Delia's Summer Collection. It contains some good basic dishes which 8/9 year olds should be able to cope with and it has one or two fun extra's, homemade lemonade for example.

Good luck!

David

Hi David,

I've got all of Delia's books (along with a hundred others!) but they particularly wanted a book that was 'theirs' with recipes specifically made for youngsters.

I'll keep pootling around Amazon!

Jannymac, I can't get to M&S, I live in France but I'll keep it in mind for my next trip to the UK!!! Smile
