This must be the worst decision the powers that be have ever made. This is total madness. GFL is the flagship programme. Yes the channel could do with some NEW stuff, and the new programme sounds great, but why not get rid of the repeats and bring in a brand new programme alongside GFL. Come on, see sense. UKTV Food is the ONLY reason I haven't cancelled my cable and got a Freeview box instead, and GFL is the best programme on this channel.

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why? GFL is the best thing on tv - not just uktv food - and Jenni is fabulous (not to mention all those hunky chefs!!). Without GFL uktv food is just a channel full of old cooking shows. You must be bonkers!
Please rethink and come up with GFL under another name = how about Jenni and the Chefs? Or HHH (humour, Hunks and Honey)? Or even better - Drool!

This is the only time that I know I will cry when a programme ends!!!! Please sign the petition to save this show!!!!!!! This is the flagship programme of UKTV food. Who in their right mind would get rid of such a popular programme and I have been wracking my brains about who would ? All I can think of is that maybe it is because of money - because it is costing alot of money to run GFL - if this is so and maybe the chefs who are on cost alot and maybe the ingredients and the wine and anyone they have on cost alot - if this is the case - surely sponsors could be found - who would love the advertising that they would get - and companies who GFL plug they could also be expected to pay up . Maybe I might be a million miles from the correct answer but because we havent been given a good enough reason and GFL is going to be replaced by a programme done in a market - maybe the programmers think they will save money this way. But if they loose all their viewers they are not going to gain anything. It is such a fantastic programme some one should rescue it - and Jeni. Maybe this has all been said - but the other posts are not there for me to look back to them all. I am just going to really really miss this programme.

Absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have heard, taking GFL off tv. The ratings will go down on UKTV food now you mark my words. Jenni is always so cheerful and can make the most miserable person in the world crack a smile. Whats up with you, can't you see a successful show when its staring you in the face? Does anyone know why it's ending? Maybe Jeni got a better offer i.e. BBC?

Disaster for UKTVFOOD though - no other show is nearly as good.

I really can't belive that the powers that be would take such a good entertainig show off the air.. What do these people think we want to see, although I love Nigel Slater I am sick of the repeats and as for seeing Rick Stien and his dog getting in and out of boats I am just fed up!!! The new program to replace GFL does not fill me with joy. Jennie was and is a great presenter she makes us laugh and the rapport she has with the chefs is second to none. Can I ask who the powers that be ask, when the decide what we the people who PAY for the TV want to watch. Because if they asked me it definatley would NOT be AWT again or James Martin . What we like to see is a well presented show that is entertaining, whitty and also informative with great chefs who dont get on your nerves. I will be very sad to see the show go - please rethink!!!

I agree. This is one of the few programmes that is keeping me from closing my account with SKY. I really can't see why such an entertaining show is being taken off air. Viva Jenny.

I'm not a lover of food programmes. My wife seems to watch them all day! But I actually enjoy watching this, not so much for the food but the entertainment. As someone said earlier - its one of the few reasons that makes the cost of Sky worthwhile. Confused

My mother started watching GFL in Australia 2 years ago with my father when he became ill with lung cancer. Over six painful months my father laughed, learnt, and enjoyed (when he could eat) the recipes Jeni introduced them to. My mother rang me in tears on Wednesday to tell me they had announced the demise of the show that day. She has been dealt a blow - after Dad's death she faithfully watched the show every day - somehow Jeni felt like a link to Dad, and almost a part of the family. It is madness to cancel such a popular show. I hope UKTV's ratings plummet as a result and they go bust. Meantime, Jenni PLEASE set up your winning formula on another network who appreciates you, failing that come to Australia - we love you!

I have already posted expressing my disgust at the decision to cancel GFL. I have not watched UKTV Food or used the website since and have no intention of doing so again unless Jeni B/GFL return. I heard about this petition on JB's website and am more than happy to sign up. Come on UKTV Food - have half a brain, stop the glorified supermarket advert that is Market Cash-in and bring back the only decent show you had!

How could you axe the most popular food show on UKTV????? Surely it is one of the most ridiculous decisions the people on high have ever made! Bring Jennie and co back and you will see your viewing figures rise again. I for one will cease to watch UKTV until you bring back the most entertaining, informative and pleasurable food show ever! I would like to see Jeni B and Good Food Live back even if in a revamped form.

Pulling it so unceremoniously was a major mis-step by the channel in terms of understanding its audience.

I'm sorry, but what is market kitchen all about? I have been at home due to ill-health for some time and dearly miss GFL, Jenni and the banter, my days are not the same as I used to look forward to GFL. Please bring it back.

I have watched Good/Great Food Live from the very first show. Since then, I have trained to be a chef, and am currently setting up my own deli and catering business. The show has been inspirational to me over the years and also very entertaining. I enjoy the other shows on the channel but many are repeats and don't offer up-to-date information.

Market kitchen is good and also informative but it isn't GFL. I don't think you fully understand your market. People who want a Market Kitchen style show will just watch the F-Word.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

GFL was not only a good food show that I learnt a great deal from, it was entertaining, The recipes were inventive and so far the new show has not inspired me to new dishes. I know it's early days and everyone deserves a chance but I for one miss the warmth that this show lacks.
