Is there someone who is willing from UKTV to tell us, yes us the viewers, why without question one of the best loved, and poss must viewed programme is being scrapped. Its watched by young and old alike. Its educational, informative, and entertaining. If this is a final decision then whoever is responsible for this should hang their head in shame as viewers disappear. Our only hope is that enough outraged viewer complain, or that another channel is willing to commission the show. They will know that there is a ready made gang of viewers willing to watch it.

I can't believe it. This is one of the best food programmes ever. What is the reason, pray? Please reconsider.

Where will I go for recipe inspiration if GFL disappears from our screens? How will we all expand our repetoire if we haven't got experienced chefs to watch? I thoroughly enjoy the whole programme with the banter and jokes and I will miss it hugely. Please don't axe this great show. Confused Cry Frown

I think plain and simple has summed up everyones throughs to the T. But and explination is needed. Even one posted on this web site as to why it's being axed will do. Cry

I agree. Noone from the channel has given us a clear explanation for the reasons behing this mad decision.

Having read Jeni's blogs on her website, she is as upset as we are that the programme is coming to an end.

I just hope that another channel takes this format and fantastic presenter on!!!!

Heres a thought............... Are the sponsors aware of the depth of feeling there is about this issue, or are UKTV just going to keep buring its head in the sand, and hoping this will go away?

Angry what the blazes! i've just got interested in cooking due to this program & in particular Jenni Barnett's wit & intelligence which rise above the usual bland presenting. SHE IS A MAJOR ASSET WHO TV CAN ILL AFFORD TO LOSE!!!!! Good Food live is the ONLY cookery show that i have actually attempted any of the recipes from. i will not watch UK TV Food once this is taken off air (nor will the wife!)

Please could someone make the programme makers on UKTV Food see sense. Great Food Live is the best programme on UKTV Food. Jenny Barnet is the funniest, most entertaining presenter I have seen on any program on any channel. We will miss her terribly and a great number of viewers will be deprived of a daily dose of fun, wholesome, slightly mad entertainment. Surely this is one of the most watched programmes on the UKTV network.

Develish What the devil are they thinking about. To axe THE BEST PROGRAM on any channel on TV. It is educational, fun and when you are housebound it becomes a highlight of the day. They are just MAD MAD MAD.

we have to put up with repeat after repeat to the point that we know what Rick Stein (for example) is going to say next! my viewing of UKTV food has lessened considerably over the last few months and to take Jenny off defies all logic. Every day we have something new and fresh to look at and even my kids are getting interested in different types and tastes of food because of 'the funny lady'. someone needs their head read and UKTV Food's loss will surely be someone elses gain!

What a shame someone has decided that GFL should be axed. However, big business takes little notice of it's consumers preferences nowadays so unfortunately all our comments will have little if any effect. Jeni has been like a friend in the corner of our room every evening for 5 years, and we have learnt so much about food (and Drink!). We will miss you Jeni!

ITs really sad to learn that someone has decided that this programme need to be axed. Have they taken one moment to think how much pleasure and joy it brings to people. I had my mother here from India and she was glue to this programme all the time . She loved Jenny and all those who joined her. We love all the recipes, information and tips that was shared by all those that came on the show. We are a food loving family now what am I going to share with my family back home and here.

Jenny I will really miss you. You have been a friend with whom I had a date every day

I do hope Jenni comes back soon- lovely lady, great personality
When other presenters do the show it is boring by comparision
Watch the show every night
love the way she chats through chef demos
love her addiction to Reisling and chocolate
there are plenty of cookery shows but only one JB
favourite recent moment was slyvana?s bulgarian dessert- hilarious

This is utter madness! GFL is an amazingly educational programme, wonderfully presented with top chefs and ideas! I cannot believe why UKTV wants to scrap this. It's the best progaramme in my opinion that they have!

Totally upset, bewildered and angry!

Sort it out and scrap this crazy decision! UKTV, you are making the biggest mistake ever, please listen to us the viewers or at least explain your motives!

If another channel has the foresight to take Jenni and her team on, you will get 100% of my support. Confused

What is UKTVFood thinking of, I can't believe one of the Best and informative Food programmes has been axed obviously the big cheeses couldn't give a Shiraz about the viewers. We watch Jenni's show daily in our house and she will be sadly missed

This is a crying shame. We are a couple of weeks behind in Australia so I just found this out. GFL is the most entertaining (and informative) food show on tv. Please can this bizarre decision be reconsidered? Angry Angry

Gutted that GFL is being taken off this week. I've just started my maternity leave and was sooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to watching more of Jeni (who I think is fab, so funny, so enthusiastic) and her gang.

Not sure who makes this type of decision but I have to say I am appalled!

Absolutely gutted. I want to wish Jeni all the very best for the future and hope to see her back on tv very soon.

sknowles46 we're working on it! Obviously there cannot be any new episodes of Great Food Live but changing MArket Kitchen away from the 6.30 time and moving in GFL repeats seesm very do-able.

We've had favourable feedback from the senior programming executive and are in telephone contact with them but there are one or two hurdles still to go.

Hopefully soon as their new lineup is coming up in about a month.

Market Kitchen is no replacement for GFL, I have only ever watched about 5 episodes of market kitchen and it is absolutely terrible, the host's fumble around trying to cook. Why cant the people who make the big decision's, Bring Back GREAT FOOD LIVE and bring back the talent of Jenni

I couldn't agree more Steven. It used to be that there were great, creative recipes on a wonderful, zippy, entertaining daily live cookery show that could be talked about varied and debated.

Now it is just a dry, boring moonscape of one repeat after another, capped off at the end of the day by the MOST boring food show ever produced.

Rubbish Angry Angry

Those that make the "big decisions" COULD bring back Jeni and Great Food Live.

What a total travesty. They cancelled the only live food programme in Britain. They've ruined the whole channel.

Hi sagat
I too have stopped watching UKTV since GFL went off air - I dont bother with MK - its absolutely not worth wasting my time on - learnt nothing, enjoyed nothing, dont watch the channel at all now.
You can catch up with Jeni on her blog - www.jenibarnett.com Hug

Angry I have now switched to a sky programme called Taste as I am so unhappy with the so called food programme that is in place of GFL.
The new programme is so badly done, and the presenters are such amateurs compared with our Jeni
