A lady from the Hotel Flora in Frascati used to write on here quite regularly giving helpful hints on italian cooking. She said if anyone wished to stay there to send her a e mail through the hotel's website and she would see they got a good room - if you are interested. I looked up the hotel on the Trip Advisor's website and the comments were so positive I made a note of it. Is nearer to the airport Ryanair use for Rome.

If your spending a few days in Rome, it is well worth getting the train to Frascati ( approx. 30 mins ). Lovely little place with some fantastic, well priced restaurants Wink

There's a really nice restuarant which is across the road from the Colleseum. The food was good, the waiter was entertaining (but knew when to leave us alone!) and I must say it's probably one of the most memorable meals we've ever had!! The atmosphere sitting across from one of the major roman monuments is fantastic. Even if it isn't far from the roadside. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but if I remember correctly, it's in between two others opposite the back of the Colleseum. Hopefully someone else will be able to find it & post it's name for you.

Oddies - sorry - can't make any recommendations for Rome. However, would like to congratulate you and the Mrs on 30 years married - there's not many left who can say that these days. Congratulations and hope you enjoy your trip to Rome.

Hi I was in Rome in Nov. last .We went to a most fantastic restaurant recommended by The Sunday Times writer. He recommended it for lunch/brunch but really we should have gone in the evening .-We ate so much we could not have an evening meal !! The food ,the service , value for money, the ambience was superb 10 out of 10. Unfortunately I cannot find their card , but I am sure The Times will have it on their site . Only disadvantage it was miles out from centre but well worth going to. Food Sublime
