We had this wonderful side dish (that looks like mushy peas,only yellow and more strongly flavoured) in a restaurant and would like to cook it at home.
No idea how to make it though-
what kind of lentil should be used (red,brown or green)?
what spices?

Could have been pease pudding, made with yellow split peas.

We were definitely told it was made with lentils,but i'll google it-might be something similar!
