Hiya lou lou pie i changed it to teaspoons to for the flour. but i found out they forgot to put the chilli powder on the web recipe so make sure you add some too and extra water to cos it still comes out thick to thick realy
ps i kept the programe on tape thats how i found out about the chilli powder and the curry now tastes so much nicer now and its best to let it cook for a long time to get the flavour realy going just remember to check on it and give it a stir
happy cooking

i too followed the recipe and also used the 5tbs of both plain and sr flour.I couldn't understand why it was so thick. My husband checked again tonight as i was cooking this dish and wasn't happy,it now says 5tsp of plain flour, i also thought there's no way it looked liked that on the show. Also it didn't list garlic as it does tonight. What a let down. Confused

On the program, Anthony mentioned when the curry powder was being added. The daughter said "in a minute"

What kind of curry power and how much????????????

btw, I too used 5 tbsp of both flowers. Not a good result. Didn't know if I wanted to eat it or kick it!

I noticed also that they added chilli power. I'll try that later today.

Yep I cooked this Sat night and although I remembered the two flours (not mentioned in the ingredients) I didn't remember the chilli and curry powder so it was all a bit tasteless really. Disappointing.

WAHA HAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAH EUROEKA!

Beautiful curry.

I used :-

1.5 tsp mild chilli power.
1 tsp madras curry powder.
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp Self Raising flour
500 ML water instead of 125ml

Fantastic result. Make sure you cook the finished paste through enough. I cooked it for about an hour on a low heat.

Cookin Girl- It's called 'Sweet Mandarin' and they have a web site. I mailed them already on 25/2/07 and they requested an update of the recipe on UKTV site but it obviously hasn't happened.

Dear All,

Thank you for your interest in my grandmother Lily Kwok's curry. I do apologise that the recipe on the website is wrong. I have contacted UKTV Food to correct it - Some clear errors - I noticed there is no self raising flour, curry powder or stock! The quantities need to be revised too. The methodology is also crucial to making the perfect curry.

I am awaiting for the revised recipe to be updated and due to our agreement as a contributor on UKTV Food the recipe is for UKTV Food to upload (rather than us sending out to individual requests). In the meanwhile, if you are desperate for a taste, you are welcome to a sample tasting of the curry at Sweet Mandarin (which my sister Lisa runs) in Manchester. It would be great to meet you all! Foodies unite.

Wishing you all the best

Helen Tse

p.s. My grandma says Hi.

It really is unacceptable. A lot of people had an inedible meal the first time they tried this not to mention wasting money on ingredients. They then take the recipe off the website and replace it with another one which is obviously wrong as well. C'mon UKTVFOOD get your fingers out and put up the correct recipe. People who read the message boards know that the recipe is still wrong and are not going to waste anymore money until the correct recipe is put up but what about the people who don't read the boards and are creating this disasterous recipe every day!!Lily's curry's reputation is also at risk!
Thanks for coming on to explain Helen, I only hope they get the right recipe up asap!
