Can someone ask this person if we (the viewers) can have our programme back? This woman shouts loudly, talks over the cooks and generally interrupts throughout presentations with inane irrelevant so-called facts. It's a cooking programme - not the JB show! Angry

I find Jenni pretty funny most of the time, but I do agree that she takes over to the point where the chef has got to rush the dish onto the plate at the end because she has hogged the stage so much during the demonstration. Let the cooks cook Jenni, and join in the fun but please let them do what they're there for.

Smile Just started to watch the programme of an evening and very pleasant it is too. It's a wonderful treat to find Jenni Barnet presenting; used to love watching her years ago with Michael Aspel, Danny Baker on ITV in the London area. She is very funny and professional in her ad libbing and no fool. Having watched her this week having to front it out while "Two friends of Dorothy" bodged it up from start to finish pretending they could cook was absolutley fascinating. Go back to drinking coffee in Old Compton Street "girls" and leave the cooking to proper cooks. Researchers please take note!
Jenni does a good job; carry on Tiger.

Love Jenni Barnett - she is a natural and makes the program. I don't see Great Food Live on our Lifestyle Food Channel anymore i.e. Foxtel Where are all the new programs I really hope you are going to continue with a great series.

Great food and food bites etc are great programmes My problem is JB she is way over the top and takes over sometimes not even allowing chefs a reply. Would love the programme to continue with a new less in your face presenter. Would also love to see some new foody programmes

You all leave Jeni alone!! Or I will beat you all up!! Mad As long as you form a nice orderly queue. Big Grin

What I like about Jeni is she is naturally a very attractive, locquacious and vivacious person who appears to be liked by chefs, despite viewers thinking she disturbs them. I also like her honesty, and when she likes something, it looks like she really likes something.

I agree with you Tim5 she is honest and dosn't put up with any nonsense from the chefs. That way the programme is run by her and not by anyone else - chefs etc. She is the presenter and no one else is! She asks the right questions and is very experienced in this field. She makes the right opinions at the right time. Any critics out there just, switch channels, and don't be so nasty! Mad

I have to admit I loved Jeni to start with, she made me laugh and the show was a joy to watch, I watched it every day, always recording it if I couldn't catch it live.

Then gradually I didn't laugh so much, and started getting annoyed when the chefs were interrupted so much and points were missed when Jeni was speaking loudly over the top. To say she doesn't stand for any nonsense from the chefs I feel is very derogatory, they are the ones with the knowledge and are there to show off their wares.

Now I only watch it occasionaly.

I'm not totally sure why the show is finishing, but looking at viewing figures (the repeats of shows like Rick Stein, Gary Rhodes etc are outstripping GFL by a massive amount) I do wonder if other people have felt the same way, and done exactly as cornetto suggests, and indeed what I did......... switched channels.

Good Morning All
I have to say I have been watching JB over the last few years and she has become a bit over the top depending on how she feels on the day - but, she is all in all a fantastic presenter and such fun to watch most of the time she makes me laugh even when I am alone! She flirts for fun with some presenters and as far as having a new presenter We have experienced this when she has been off and it is just not the same Ed Baines is boring, Frank Bordoni is also boring etc... They are all good in their own right but dont have the same continuity that JB has I love her presenting and also her style she is one classy lady and also I am fed up with looking at skinny young things presenting - I am on JB's wavelength long may she last! (Obviously not too long by the sound of it - shame) Confused

Roll on April when all this drivel ends and nobody worries about where she gets her tops, bras and nail varnish. She is just a presenter and probally would not get a restaurant job in the Potwash let alone one of the more skilled positions.

Ducks and hides.

Like it or not. Soon to be history. Probally see the repeats on there.

I no longer watch Good food and the one and only reason is JB I want to watch and hear the chefs not JB so totaly agree with some of the other posts. Living in the M.E. Rick Stein is my favourite presenter and only found out recently that Chalky is no more Far more important than JB and her shenanigans

Thank you all for your comments, some I agree with more than others.
I've watched **** Food Live for a long period and initially enjoyed it greatly but as you may have surmised over time have become more exasperated by JB's presenation techniques. I, like others, have moved from being a regular viewer to only an occasional one as a result.
I often ask myself the question why many of the original guest chefs appear less frequently. Is it because that after increasingly pugnacious berratings they have decided to move on to more sedate and serious outlets for their skills?

I was unaware that GFL is shortly to end, perhaps it is for the best as I can see no way forward without matters getting worse. Good Food Live was replaced with Great Food Live, something which only increased JB's hold on the show.
If she is to continue to present, surely someone in production should have a word. When moderated, I'm sure she can do a good job but to allow the current situation to continue worries me.
A final thought, like another submission I read, does anyone monitor these sites to take account of viewers comments?

Hi there,
The message board is hugely important to all the UKTV Food team – we listen and take on board all your comments and suggestions.
It’s only natural that people have differing opinions on what makes great television, but we really do take each opinion seriously.
Keep an eye out on the message board for upcoming posts on the new show, Market Kitchen, starting in April…
Cheers, Amanda – UKTV Food

It is sad i think that GFL is soon to go of air along with JB. To think that boring Ramsy woman got a job just because of whom her husband is, shows you that the likes of JB who got her role through hard work and graft are long gone hence we have wooden tops coming on to the TV with lucrative presenting jobs just because they have the right connections. Confused Angry

Have just found out that GFL is to finish. I am horrified. Just for the record, I think Jeni is brilliant.

Well I've been looking into this new show and it sounds quite good, about time we said goodbye to JB! New fresh ideas, new presenters, new chefs, I don't know about anyone else but I think that's what cooking is all about! New fresh ideas!! I say bring it on.
