I just love his no nonsense attitude towards food....He has looked around alot of apartments in new york and most don;t come with a kitchen and those that do are half the size fo a urinal...He knows how to shock, yet entertain...and punch without worry at those who may try and shout him down.

He can open a restaurant with fine dining, yet understand what good pub grub is all about.

Good Yorkies are as much a passion as good frois gras.

This is what sets this man apart from most Chefs...He understands food from Top to Bottom....and knows how a restaurant works.

i don't like the man, i think he is a shameless bully, its a shame that someone with such appaling manners has such a prolific tv career.
i saw him on the new series of kitchen nightmares, and the way he humiliated the chef that was on there, who was a sweet, vulnerable older man was absolutely deplorable.

That vulnerable old man was about to lose his business and be turfed out with only his plate collection as company.

He wasn't there for the good of is health, he saved his business and gave that sweet old man some pride.

Chef Ramsey is a motivator and a very good one.

All Chefs are cooks, not all cooks are Chefs. The word Chef, much misused in the media and the food industry, literally means Head. A Chef leads a team of cooks and others, (Brigade). Leaders have to be good at motivating, they lead by example, but also they have to be able to drive people on to achieve what is required.

When people are tired, not concentrating and making mistakes, all of which has a financial cost attached to it, they have to be re-focused and sometimes that means a very forceful and direct method. You cannot lead in the long term by being a bully, ultimately you loose, as people will not invest in your brand of skills.

Remember that without investors to put up the cash, most of the big names would be one trick ponies, constrained by lack of funds. To get even a fairly modest dining experience up and running costs £1m plus in the first year. 60% of all new ventures do not last 2 years and of the remainder a further 60% fail within a further 2 years. It is a very tough world and you have to be able to hard when situations demand.

Boy do I need a holiday!

yes, he was about to lose his business, but there are better ways to motivated people than wearing them down. so what if the guy liked collecting plates, he didn't have to throw them out, he could have just got the guy to move them into his home as a private collection.
'chef' Ramsey made some unnecesary moves, such as making the guy watch whilst his kitchen equipment was being destroyed, and turning them away from thier pub when they turned up dressed smartly. what on earth is that going to acheive?
that particular episode of kitchen nightmares made cringeworthy tv, and the only reason why i continued to watch the programme the whole way through, was to see if the poor guys business survived.
and why do we have to keep seeing gordon ramsey without his shirt on, its really not attractive.

oh what he will do for attention

Can you pls explain what you actually mean here??? I really can quite understand what you said. Confused

Also how did you know about his apartment hunting??

My opinion of Gordon is that he's a big fat hypocrite!

He villified & talked down on "tv chefs" saying they should all be in their kitchens instead of prancing about in front of tv cameras!!! Embarrassed

Well.....look who's been dominating & "prancing" about on the TV screens these days...none other but Gordon Ramsay, the chef turned tv actor! Blurgh
