Im trying to buy leaf gelatine but am having no luck. Ive tried all the usual supermarkets but they only stock powdered, which Ive tried but it doesnt have the desired effect.
Any ideas good people?

Have you tried a good chemists shop? Seriously some of them do stock it!! Alternatively are there any cake decorating shops in your area? again you might hit lucky. Have to agree powdered isn`t as good - another alternative is agar agar which is derived from seaweed, again chemists or health food shops may have this

If your Sainsbury's /Tesco's don't sell it - go to customer services and ask if they could please start to stock it .... the more that ask the more they'll be inclined to supply!

Waitrose sells it and so does tesco's by their other baking goods, but i definatly prefer leaf gelatine to the powered stuff as i always get good results with the leaf and alwful results with the powered. Big Grin

Hi, Maybe a bit late....but you can definitely get leaf gelatine from Wally's Deli in Wales. It is an online shop...sorry can't remember the web address but you should get it from Google, They have some really nice stuff and a good service. Just as an after thought they also do those fantastic massive dried white beans for Greek recipes (they look like butter beans only 3 times the size, can't remember the name), and many other good things. Big Grin

Ironic that leaf gelatine appears to be so hard to get, I can't get powdered gelatine anywhere! All my recipes using gelatine are old & use powdered (2grams, 1/2oz, 1 pkt etc), & I'm having a devil of a job trying to convert powdered gelatine to leaf gelatine (which seems to be all I can get now) Any tips would be helpful.
