Thinking of going to this as it is only 1 hour from Cambridge.
Can Anyone give me their views as it sounds a good place to go.

Are you sure??????

Parking is diabolical, you are guaranteed a ticket. Its mainly a clothes market now, the fruit and veg and other foods has been shoved out by the clothing stalls. If you are going by car then I would not leave it too late as getting back onto the M11 is chaos. Must be a closer market to you that is miles better than whats left of one of Londons premier markets,

My advise anyway. someone is bound to disagree.

Being an ex-pat Eastender I agree 200%. It was a nightmare 30yrs. ago, let alone now Angry

Thanks for that, It had been given a plug by a chef on GFL and thought it was a good place to go.
Maybe I will give it a miss unless someone can convince me otherwise

As a Leytonstone girl - I used to go there a lot shopping as a child my mum would take us in to Rossie for a knickerboker glory fantastic - it was a brilliant market but is has lost it's shine, i live out in Surrey and drive in to Croydon Fruit and veg market on a Saturday morning - Parking is great yes you pay for it but you can park.

Try Croydon Fruit and Veg market you will love it Smile Tongue

Hello Sesley

I lived in Fillibrook Rd Leytonstone, until 1990, our house was then made complusory order for the M11. a friend of mine lives in Frith Rd, Leyton. I used to go the the 3 Blackbirds pub on the odd night. It has changed so much now - did you ever go to the open lido in wanstead park?

I lived in E17 till 2001. The market's OK if you live on the doorstep, but I wouldn't make a trip especially! Get the train to London and go to Borough Market instead.
