I am looking to buy a hand blender and don't know which one to go for. Food Uncut did a review of stick blenders but I can't remember which was viewed the best. Does anyone have any recommendations? I will be using it mostly for pureeing baby food and soups.
Thanks

I would buy one with a metal shaft - I melted a plastic one when blending hot soup.Stupid thing to do I know, but one I didn't want to repeat. I have a Braun one which also comes with a small chopping bowl (could be useful with a baby) and a whisk attachment and I have been very pleased with it.

Thanks - I didn't think of that but its a good point - I do tend to blend the soup when its too hot and that's how I cracked my last liquidiser!! Thanks for the recommendation. Big Grin

Kitchen Aid.... its THE only one! Does everything and crushed ice great. Metal blades too.

Braun Multiquick Hand Blender, MR6550 - usually £49.95 but larger Sainsbury's stores have then for £29.99. Has metal shaft, also has chopper attachment, whisk and grinder. I use it everyday (for everything, chopping oniions/garlic/herbs to blending soups), gets washed in the dishwasher (other than electrical-bit) everyday - and after 4 years, still works perfectly

Excellent thanks for the tip - if the Braun is cheaper in Sainsburys then that sounds great. I've never heard of Kitchen Aid - I'll look it up

If you can afford it, get a Bamix. You'll have it for life and never regret it.
