Think about it sesley, messageboards are not a place to insult people. Mad

Nobody is out to insult anyone, everyone has things that they find annoying, and 1 is being run over by motorised units in public areas like the street or supermarkets. Some motorised scooter drivers seem to disregard public safety.

Saying they should be tested for sherry and whiskey? comparing all of them to the ironbru advert? wake up sesley you insulted a lot of people and should say sorry to us.
You are even continueing to insult now saying we disregard public safety, what about our safety? How many times have you been run over? I have never run over anyone.

Sorry i did not mean to offend you,but I have seen people in those scooters barge straight ino others i am glad you have never run anyone over, but I know of other being knocked over by them and the bruises are quite painful. The other problem I have in Supermarkets is children over the size of toddlers riding in the trolleys its not safe for that because they can tip over.and they put dirt from their shoes all over the trolleys, which then have food and clothes placed in them.

How often have you barged into a wheelchair or scooter or someone on crutches or with a stick or even not able to walk well with your trolley, those bruises hurt as well you know.
You are so ignorant. Angry Angry

Never and I am not unsympathetic to people that have to use them. I am as ignorant as the guilty ones that have barged into someone else.

I can honestly say I don,t barge into people I live in a civilsed part of Scotland where people still have good manners and give you plenty of personnel space, people here still hold doors open for each other and the bus drivers even help people having difficulty getting on to buses. If you don,t believe me I can,t make you. i have seen films of England where people just barge into one another anyway no matter who is in the way.

selsey! I really cannot believe you are turning one comment by Frank into a Scotland verses England divide.

Maybe you do sive in a civilised part of Scotland, I also live in a civilised part of England, but I have accidently barged into people just as much as I have been barged into by others.

Bus drivers helping people on the buses? ok if the bus is at a standing area but at a normal bus stop, they could lose their job as they are not in control of the bus.

As for seeing films of England where people just barge into one another. Purlease!!! I think we have all seem films of different places, and I don't think some of Scotland would scrub up that well either!!

Maybe you are lucky enough to live in a quiet and uncrowded area, most of us are not that lucky. But if all you have to go on is films of England I would say you need to experience England for yourself before you make such comments.

I also would like to say what I have said on another thread, I thought this thread had already been removed once today due to comments of this sort.

I'm sure Frank didn't mean anything by what he said, you know Frank... Mr Jokey!

I can speak as a person who has almost been run over by a motorised scooter, and as someone who has almost run people over. I broke my leg a few years back and had to use one in the super market, jeez they're hard to control! I think it took me 4 hours to do one shop Cheeky

Hi guys!!!! Sorry if I have caused a fuss. It was a joke although I did actually get run over by a motorised wheelchair - I didn't make it up. On a serious note though, I would like to say that I do not make a joke of disability or people struggling to cope with disability or social injustice. Infact I have been actively involved in a charity for disabled people for the last 7 years. Confused

Hi Frank.

I thought the joke you made was taken out of context. I thought you were having a laugh at Jeni (being of a more mature age Wink when she was talking about supermarkets for older people, not making a joke about people who have a disability! It's a shame that this reaction may make you more guarded about what you say on the show in case you offend anyone Frown

Mo Smile (who has seen a lot of jokes and discrimination aimed at the people with physical and learning disabilities I have worked with for 16 years now Cry )

Hi all, may i make a comment about the disabled,as i am crippled with arthritis myself.I have a scooter, which is very easy to handle, unlike the supermarket ones, which would be easier if they where a j c b.I have never bumped into anyone, but saying that it can get frustrating when people know you are there but choose to ignore you.The other thing, which may sound funny,is to have someone usualy men break wind in your face when your sat in a wheelchair.lol .sandy aka hudyjudy.

Good on you Frank for posting that message. I think some people may be too sensitive sometimes and the whole thing was taken way out of context.

The whole world is too sensitive these days!!! We can offend someone somewhere with practically anything we say. What happened to sense of humour. My dad is in a wheelchair and takes no offence at anything and has a right old laugh. Disabled people ask to be treated the same as everyone else..........until it comes to having a laugh and then they want special treatment. You can't have it both ways. We call my dad Brian Potter!!! Big Grin
