Can somebody please suggest to me an alternative to margarine. I make muesli bars each week for my partner and I to take to work as a healthy snack and the recipe I have uses margarine. I don't want to use margarine anymore as it contains hydrogenated vegetable oil and don't seem to be able to find a margarine that doesn't contain this. What is a healthy alternative to use?

Thanks

Sorry - rant over. Smile

Stowv1 - have you considered trying Flora? I believe that can be used for baking and doesn't contain anything hydrogenated.

Look for Pure, in any of the supermarkets. It is inexpensive and free from hydrogenated oils. Even my fussy daughter buys this one! and you can buy an Organic one too for a little more.
I use this for all my cooking with great results.

I have to say - it's so nice to be thanked for the info posted on here. Hug

Too often, lots of excellent advice/info has been given only to see the thread end with no follow up! I love to see the thank yous or follow up as to how recipes etc., turned out. Smile
