Dumplings

Hi again, I need to prepare a casserole in advance next week for someone to reheat the next day. I wanted to add dumplings to it as well. Can I add them at the end of cooking the casserole on the first day, then leave them on the cooled casserole and get the person to reheat the whole lot in one pot the next day? Would the dumplings be rubbery or collapse? Has anyone done this before, and how successful was it? Any tips please woudl be most helpful. Thanks.

I think the dumplings would go hard. Cook your casserole and only add the dumplings at the end of the reheating time.
