Like everything else on them channels its absolute rubbish, I bought the jack la laine power juicer, granted it its an ok juicer but the cleaning of it is a nightmare.

A freind of mine bought a nu wave oven, within two days he had sent it back as it does not do what them over entuisiastic American presenters claim it does, he followed the instructions for cooking a frozen chicken, it looked lovely and golden brown on the outside and a frozen cave on the inside.

And as for them Titanium 2 Knives dont get me started on them!!!

I couldnt disagree more. I bought one 2 years ago for my wife and its used daily. everything from Joints to Jacket potatos to sausage rolls. Cooks quickly, cleanly and perfect results. The element blew last week so Ive already ordered a new one, its that good. Maybe if these replies are all as the result o

Thanks Bungey. At last someone who has purchased a Nu Wave Oven. Are the joints and chickens cooked to perfection, do they dry out or are they succulent? Are they really worth the money and kitchen space? Do they roast vegetables? Smile

Alex - a Nu Wave Oven is a round countertop turbo oven it works on convection, fan and infrared and is supposed to save on energy - we just had our energy bill recently and it wasn't a pretty sight.

2500 -
Its obviously a matter of opinion as youve already seen. Ive got 2 one at home and one at our caravan. absolutely love them. Cook chickens right through really moist and very fast. roast veggies are perfect, cooking things like frozen sausage rolls or small cakes etc are just brilliant. How cheap to run I couldnt say but definately cheaper and quicker than putting on the oven. you can buy a fixed temperature model (with timer) for around £50 and Ive always only cooked on full heat anyway. I cant fault them. And by the way I am a chef at an age concern kitchen so I have a little knowledge what is a efficient cooker or not and I wouldnt be without it. Ive worn my first one out in 2 years. used every day.

Smile You are being great Bungey. Did you buy your nu wave oven from the Digital shopping channel? Also, have you cooked roast beef, lamb and pork joints in the oven. How do pork and lamb chops come out. Do you use it cook steaks, can it casserole beef etc. Or is it for fast cooking only. Many thanks for your help.

Thanks for the explanation 2500, I use my turbo oven every day. Mind you I'm not sure if I have the infared, I think I may have noticed. I use mine as a grill - Polish cookers do not have grill options, and for roasting meats. I bought my first one in Singapore and when that broke I got one here. I have never tried to defrost, or cook from frozen. Like bungey I always use full heat and roasts are always moist on the inside. I leave the meat in there to rest as well.
Does anyone know a website with other cookng ideas?
Alex

I have no idea. I have just ordered one from the television. When I have tried it out I will leave a message for you all, telling you the pros and cons, and if it actually works.

This oven is brilliant. I can't praise it enough. Took delivery last week and very easy to use. Have so far cooked salmon steak, seabass, chicken breast, sirloin steak, sirloin joint and I am at the moment cooking jacket potatoes. Was very sceptical and thought oh no I've been taken in again!! How wrong was I. Chijl I think your conventional oven is the best option for baking a cake. It is impossible to ruin anything in this oven, everything is excellent and cooks quite quickly. Maggie, for what it's worth I have had a Nu Wave oven for 5 months and it is the best thing I ever got. Only thing I have a problem with is the recipe book is not very clear and not many recipes. I mostly use the chart that comes with the oven. Everything comes out just perfect. Now I need more recipes!!!! Big Grin

Hi ArizonaBunny - the recipe book is poor. I am still very pleased with my NuWave Oven. I keep a book especially for the NuWave and write down all the timings etc. then just have to refer back to it.

Hi hillbillyj - try asking bestdirect.tv if they can help you.
jnchris70 - as long as you don't ask the oven to do the impossible you should be happy. Jacket potatoes are a real hit.

I don't think it's fair or reasonable to automatically discount or condemn EVERYTHING one sees advertized, especially without checking things out ....

- And as proof, i can tell you that i just got my NuWave Oven and i love it! I cooked a (frozen) chicken quarter one night, a 3 pound frozen roast beef (complete with onions and potatoes) the next; they came out so juicy and delicious (and quick!) i couldn't beleive it....

Please note: there is a huge difference between the (superior) "Nu-Wave" Oven, and the (not so great) "FlavorWave"; be sure to get the NuWave (for more on the differences, see: https://www.nuwaveoven.com/faq.php#2

You can cook, bake, broil, air-fry, and more. Also, the Nu-Wave *Pro* has a timer, so you can set it to start cooking whenever you wish, and when you're ready to eat, your food will be all ready for you. It is the only countertop infrared oven to win both the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, and the "Chefs Best" award for seven years.

For more info on the NuWave Oven, see:

Enjoy!

Hi everyone, I have a nuwave & I have many recipes. Please check out this website. I was not having much luck, so I started searching and found some. Have even made some up that work well. We also have others that are working on recipes. So, we can all enjoy our nuwave/flavorwave ovens. As they work the same and recipes work the same way as well. Hopefully this helps everyone out. Give this a try! This will direct you to all my nuwave recipes.

This is a magnificent piece of kit- when it works.

We are currently on our second oven after the first failed dramatically after one week whilst cooking a chicken. After 60minutes of cooking the display went blank and only way to switch the oven off was to unplug it from the wall! The second oven has also lasted a week, and curiously enough also failed after cooking a chicken tonight- only this time it simply tripped the electrical consumer unit and we lost the power to the kitchen. Are we alone in this problem or have others found the oven unreliable?

We will order a replacmenet oven tommorrow, but it is worth persevering to find a reliable one as the result are superb. All meals are cooked perfectly, and much better than in a conventional oven. My only criticism is that chickens seem to take longer then the recomended timing if you want to avoid blood in the centre- so I would recommend 20mins per pound for fresh and 30mins per pound for frozen.

Highly praised but dont throw out the packaging- you may need it sooner than you think.....
