We want to know what you think about our schedules in the New Year!

We think we've got lots to tempt you, from Rick Stein at 9pm through January, to our new programmes Food Uncut and Florida Fatbusters - but the proof as they say, is in the pudding.

Patrick, our scheduler, would like to hear from you - so let us know what you think!

Vic why has GFL been cut to just one hour? When the programme first started it was on for one and a half hours. Then you introduced Bites which was an extention of GFL but now we only have one hour. GFL is the best programme on TV so why cut it to just one hour?

I don't really like, actually I hate, the programming at the weekends where just 1 or 2 chefs are repeated throughout the whole weekend. Since it is all over the UK network I don't think this post will be taken notice of.
I have seen Jamie Oliver, Delia, Rickl Stein etc enough times not to warrant a whole weekend of them. Angry

Yea, GFL should be back upto 1 1/2 hrs now that bites has gone, we could do with some more new programmes, I see 2 have been introduced but it wont be long before these will be endlessly repeated.

Can we expect a continuation of a daily 3-4 hr. repeat cycle and weekend stacks on a longer repeat cycle.

Will you please invest some cash in making more of your own programmes.

Pretty please take the content of our comments, re. presenters/programmes/themes on board or at least acknowledge someone other than the office cleaner reads them every now and again.

Good luck to all the staff for 2006

Barry

Please read the middle paragraph of tomfahey's diatribe re. M.C.G.L. I think that is a brilliant idea for a series. Instead of tarting up cheap food to make it look and taste better, how to replicate expensive dishes using cheaper/replacement ingrediants and still keep the concept of the dish. probally using a domestic kitchen set up as opposed to some fancy layout. Could this be Toms niche on T.V.? Ordinary bloke cooks with ordinary grub and replicates gourmet delights.

I agree with a lot of what has been said above. I would love to see GFL back on for 11/2 hours, 1 hour just isn't enough time - it just looks like you are trying to cram 11/2 hours of programming into 1 hour. Plus please change the weekend scheduling - repeats repeats repeats and yet more repeats ughhhhhhh. No more. I have switched off at weekends - to my family's delight as I just can't stand it any more.

Karen - I totally agree with you. I have written to UKTV Food so many times about this as it spoils weekends. Last weekend was particularly bad, as it repeated what was on all last week. And why are they asking for our views on scheduling. Every time I write something on the message boards about it, it disappears within 5 minutes. Angry

Then read the feedback on the rest of your website. Go to Home entertaining and Food chat, Great Food Live see what people are chating about...what excites them...
Otherwise what is the point of us taking time to put comments!!!

See what us the viewers want...

Rick Stein - new series - where? I personally think that Rick Stein is being shown far too much and all repeats, although I like him, totally "over-cooked"!!!!

I just hope Patrick the scheduler is listening to us all, otherwise what is the point of placing messages? Especially about weekend viewing (i.e. back to backs - all repeats - all weekend)!!! Let us know what he thinks about that please Vic.

P.B.

Stein at nine

Like you, I like the guys progs but as with most of the progs. a whole weekend is overkill and now we get food heros and more food heros as new programmes. Sorry U.K.T.V. Food but I can actually change channels and the afore mentioned are not NEW. On the subject of channel changing, it is something I am doing more and more often as I have seen so many progs that often I could do them myself.

You cannot rely on Jenni and G.F.L for ever

I hate to say it Barshedale, but I am beginning to do the same, turning over I mean. I love cookery programmes, but a bit of variation would not go amiss. As you say, we could cook every dish of Stein's I'm sure at the drop of a hat. I hope he knows he's being overkilled!!

Vic/Patrick - I have written to you about this before but nothing has come of it. Why don't you put on some of the old Good Food Live programmes, the really early ones (which incidentally I think a lot of people would have missed). I think they will be far more entertaining than the repeats we have at the moment. It might get our interest back!!! Big Grin

Did any of you guys watch the Food Fatties programme at 8 this morning (I think it was called that or something similar). It was reasonably interesting, but I think it should be on UKTVstyle not UK TV Food - if you did did any of you think that the chefs were a little on the porky side!! Anyway I digress off the subject - Rick Stein and Masterchef goes Large - god I've had enough of those programmes. Rick Steins Heroes is not new, as Barry says, we all saw it on Beeb2 originally. Sorry guys, but you are going to have to spend some money and invest in some new programmes or a lot of us are just going to switch off or over - maybe i'll get into gardening or DIY instead !! LOL.

Who on this thread calls the Rick Stein programme 'new'? The only new programmes mentioned I can see are Food Uncut and Florida Fatbusters. Confused Has a post been removed? Frown

ok, my turn?

I don't get many days off now, yesterday and today you may have noticed my presence, but I am rarely here during the week, and work every other weekend too. so......

My ideal would be to have ALL the GFL episodes repeated at the weekend.

I have seen all the Rick Stein, Nigella, Gary, The Best, etc etc, however I did find that when they first showed the entire series of The Best in one hit usefull, I recorded every episode so had every recipe so didn't need to buy the book. Unfortunately I have since accidently recorded over it!! Mad

If only people had the forsight to record all those episodes, we wouldn't get quite so many requests for recipes that aren't on the site.........

But to have all the GFL repeated at the weekend, plus the new show Food Uncut, which I enjoyed too.

Vic

You have, I know, so far only had 1 1/2 days postings but can you not see the trend that is developing.

G.F.L. is a fairly good example of its type but not unique in its field. Jeni could probally host any live programme but she is not and I would imagine she would agree, some kind of broadcasting goddess who must be treated as such.

To repeat from a previous posting, to me, new means previously not broadcast, not getting its first repeat on another channel.

If this survey is going to be taken seriously, something must be done before you loose too many good, loyal viewers
