Happy New Year everyone from Great Food Live! As of Monday 9th January we're back, revamped and raring to go! We have a new sexy, sophisticated set to celebrate the start of 2006.

To kick off the New Year Jeni will be chatting with Glen Matton, Great Food Live's resident nutritionist. Apparently Superfoods are the best way to revitalise and cleanse after all our Christmas indulgences - but what exactly are the best foods and why? Should we drink fruit juices, yoghurts or all the other fads on the market today??!! Put all your questions to Glen and learn what is fact or fiction!
Frank Bordoni will be on the show creating three great recipes with the best seasonal superfoods and William Sitwell will let us into the secret of what's hot and happening in 2006!

Later in the week tune in to see Lotte Duncan and join her Pudding Clinic, looking at the best British puds and learn all about the history of the biscuit with the lovely Madeleine Marsh!

We look forward to seeing you for a fresh, fun superfood Monday!

So excited that Jeni's back. The questions I have is how do I get motivated and maintain it, and also how do I stop my husband from munching after our well balanced but filling meals? I always fail and have something else when he heads for the cereal box! Love Jeni, love the show. Happy New Year! LOL xxxx Smile

I would like to ask the experts which superfoods are best for a vegetarian, I can't eat a lot of dairy as it upsets me, I am prone to IBS, so I would be very interested to know the best foods I should be eating, I do try to eat a lot of vegetables and tofu and quorn, I love broccolli, I know that is a superfood - thanks

I always try and eat healthy foods all year long, it's a shame some of these super foods are so expensive like blueberries for example. Pumpkin is supposed to be anti ageing (I think) but it's so hard to get hold of unless it's in season. I eat plenty of citrus fruits and vegetables like broccoli, carrots and tomatoes. What are the 'superfoods'? When I look on the internet there are so many different versions of what the 'superfoods' actually are.

But Carol, I would have thought all good footballers wives would know all about superfoods, even if they didn't know what to do with them.

Sorry couldn't resist.

thanks to the lovely expert for answering my question but any chance of having the spellings of the two products he suggested I should be taking, I am afraid I hadn't heard of either of them?
Thanks

Spirulina was the first one and the second one sounded like corella but I can't promise that I have spelt or even heard that correctly.

Hi Gaspode, thanks for your help, I have found Spirulina online in Holland & Barrett and ordered some - but couldn't find corella - shame they didn't give the spelling or a bit more information - but thanks to you - you have saved the day Big Grin

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year!
Am so glad the GFL gang is back - Jeni makes the show!
I'm on a liquid diet to try to lose what I put on over Christmas, so Good Food Live keeps me going! If I can't eat it, at least I can watch it! Having Frank on is an extra bonus!!
Have fun everyone xxx

Hi everyone, glad to be back. Hope you like the new look set and show and guys...don't worry about a few vices - we all have them but by doing the right thing 80% of the time we can afford to be bad for the other 20% Develish

Hi Jane,

Starting to notice some differences in GFL, and I don't mean the cosmetic ones. With the demise of Bites 1 hour for GFL is starting to look insufficient. Suppose we are just stuck with that, however there seems to be two noticable differences - less interactive chat with the Chefs as they cook - some dishes have simply been prepared straight to camera. Everyone does that and it can get boring. Some of the best tips and genuinely helpful information has arisen when there is interaction during the actual food preparation. Secondly although there are the usual contributors - Guy W. etc there seems to be no real co-chef presenter any more. Am I judging this too early (3 episodes in) or is this a deliberate change? If so it's a bad one, and at the expense of being labelled a cynic all these "new changes" including all the stuff that has been written about the demise of "Bites" and "food uncut" smack more of a balance sheet rationalisation or put simply cost cutting. If it is it's a pity because I don't think people are that easily fooled.
