A whole weekend of him, somewhat OTT. No doubt the youth liked it, particularly his articulation. He should look at his own hygiene, and food, as well as criticizing school cooking. Frown

fair point..however I think that he may have done all our children a very large favour by making the government change their attitudes towards the rubbish they have been calling food in schools. Smile

I an not really a huge fan of JO, but I did see the School Dinner series for the first time over the holiday period. I was impressed with what he had highlighted regarding kids attitudes towards "proper" food.
I think he has made a big impression on the poor quality of food we currently offer kids at school.
Why wasnt JO included in the New Years Honours list when GR gained an award for doing bugger all!!

Jamie was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June 2003.

He was honoured for his services to the hospitality industry, especially after taking a group of disadvantaged youngsters and turning them into chefs for his new restaurant 'Fifteen'.

Excatly what I'm most annoyed about that Jamie has been massively overlooked last year while Gordon Ramsay got a pathetic OBE for like big nev said "doing bugger all"!. Mad

FOr a start Jamie deserved far more than an MBE in 2003 for that project he did which actually had a direct effect on the improvement of peoples' lives.

And then with his School Dinners last year which is an equally important if not more than his Fifteen project in 2003, he got no recognition for that whatsoever!

What are these "people" at the top who are responsible for bestowing such honours could be eating themselves that have severely affected their brains I wonder...garbage no doubt which was what they've been feeding our children for years themselves.

Thanks 4 that Livewire, I was not aware of that award.
My main point was about now, not previous recognitions.
JO genuinley was mortified at the poor service on offer and was determined to do something about it.
All GR did was electrocute a few turkeys, as if he needed to!!!!!!!!

Our school dinner menu has been othoroughly verhauled and there is a massive improvement compared to the awful food that used to be on offer. Its a wonder schools (or the government) got away with it for so long!

Jamie has been invloved with many worthwhile projects he is genuiely passionate about changing things - it is a bit of a pity that he needs to expose his family to all that media attention and why did he get involved in that flavorshaker thing? there is no need!
