The presenter standing in fir Jenny at the moment is too loud and will just not stop talking!!

Hi there that is Marilese Parker, I think she is very good.
But Jenny is the best, she makes the whole food thing go so so smoothly and is a smashing person, would love to be like her, by the way Jenny do you cook yourself?

I really liked the top Marilese was wearing the other day. I think she's really good too. Enjoyed Frank and Gino the other day. Mind you what's not to like there.

Marilese was talking too much all over her guests, so no one could say much of what they were there to say, she keeps talking and talking, may be nervous or sumthing! Not a good choice...why can 't we have Simon R. or James T....they would have been great.

I went to promo with her as the host at the gfs in brum, she seemed nice enough but talked over the expert there too, I think you're right Blueblud, I think she must be nervous, she is quite informative, and seems eager to please, but she just isn't Jenni.
maybe I just don't trust anyone on a food programme who doesn't look like they eat all day for a living, *shrug*

Finesilver, she just keep telling all the experts how is it all done, what's the point having the experts there. As a host she should be more interested in her guests, why has she invited them otherwise...She looks familiar, I have seen her before somewhere but where?
So I can imagine you at a promo with her, non stop going on and on and on.Jenny talks a lot but always making a fuss of her guests, making them special...

God , that new presenter just did not give a chance to anybody, what was that...love the sound of her own voice or what! Finesilver , I dont know if she was nervous , more like neurotic!

Bluebud, I don't know whether or not you watched it but Merrilees (sp) was Brian Turners' assistant on a tv show (was it called Beat the Chef?) where Brian had to cook a meal using the same ingredients as a contestant had chosen and then it was tasted and judged by members of the audience.

This is interesting, as Merilees and her over the top presenting is a topic on many threads at the mo. I agree, she is very loud, but I think very nervous, her cooking skills are very good, but needs some couching in the presenting area, its not as easy as she may think. Jenni is excellent - but she has a few years on Merilees and maybe should give her some tips. Looking forward to tomorow Jenni and Brian tomorrow live - fab.

Thanks, Lil'Abby, thats right, I remmember now! Anyway that presenter should get coaching elsewhere, Karen 15, as GFL is too good of a show to have people on trials, and yes Jenny is very, very good( age is irrelevant, she is simply good!)
Merilees is not as memorable enough, as Jenny is...and I dont think she can ever be, also does she eat at all, ...it doesnt look like!

she was on Saturday Kitchen this week as well and didn't stop talking, having said that I do quite like her, but she hasn't had as much practice as jenni and will probably calm down in a year or two.

I suppose Jenny is a tough act to follow as she is one on her own .....she IS the show....because we have known her from the beginning.

Merilees did seem quite nervous as she kept 'looking' at the camera, if you know what I mean.

I really enjoy watching food programmes but the only problem i have is that i get put my off my food. I want to see food in all its glory not Jenny Barnetts whopping saggy cleavage. Give it a rest will you. :

Me too Karen....I enjoy the programme with other presenters but it just isnt the same without Jenny.

I prefer my programme to be hosted by a presenter who understands that the show is not a one woman dictatorship. There is a reason that they invite chef's etc onto the programme hence it being a cooking show!!
She really should ALLOW others a chance to talk instead of controlling the entire show with her brash manner. ps: she can be sooo patronising too. I wrestle with my need to either watch the cooking or switch off...

I agree with what others have said, I don't think the programme's the same with other presenters. I usually like watching Merilees though I did find her quite abrasive on Friday's show.
I enjoy watching the way Jeni interacts with the guests and don't think her manner is brash

Hi to all, I agree Jenni is a great presenter and makes the programme fun, Merilees didn't have the same flow as Jenni and seems too nervous

i agree that jeni is a brilliant presenter and i adore her and so do my boys, but please leave the others alone, how would you feel if you logged on here and read really negative things about yourselves? you'd hate it wouldn't you? leave merrilees alone, she has done no harm to you, and tbh i think she did a lovely job of presenting, even some of the boys when taking over from jeni have a difficult time, jeni is naturally humourous but the chefs/cooks are there to cook and present and taste when looking after GFL/B whereas our gorgeous jeni is there to present and taste, the chefs have 2-3 jobs to think of not 1-2, so nerves will set in, jeni although tiny has big boots (if you know what i mean) to fill!

like my mum taught me.....if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all

I think Merilees is gorgous dont think she talks over guests as much as jenni she is nuts In a goodway lol
