So come on.... which is the best college for catering at the moment??? i wood say that Highbury have been setting the standards and still are, so wats ur view?

I think the best place to learn catering is Thames Valley University in Ealing, who will accpet anyone from the age of 16+. I can certainly recommend this as I took at weekend course for 40 weeks and throughly enjoyed it. You can have a look at www.tvu.ac.uk

I am not sure how good it is but you can study catering at Uxbridge College, this is the same college I am at but I am studying Travel & Tourism, but you would be studying at the Hayes Campus, the cost of the course is very good value.

yorkshire puddings!!! Self raising Flour and milk are the main ingredient, is that ok????

Not according to Brian Turner, recipe on this site. Equal amounts of flour, eggs and milk. So all are equally the main ingredient with the vinegar, salt and dripping following on. Cheeky

3oz plain flour (75g)
1 egg
3 fl oz milk (75ml)
2 fl oz water (55ml)
salt & freshly milled pepper
2 tablespoons beef dripping (for the roasting tin)

College isn't necessarily ideal for all people, especially if they only offer a full time course. I did part time for 4 years, and worked in the industry whilst doing my qualifications. Big Grin

well colchester institute has a very good catering department gary rhodes is very famous for handing out awards and hiring people to work in his resturants
