Must tell you about the sandwich I have just had after getting in from an afternoon in the pub.

Opening the fridge I found suplies low ie Smoked middle bacon, butter and a jar of marmalade.

What a great sandwich one of the best I have had. A bacon and marmalade sandwich, Wicked!

Really light are you that devoid of something to do, that you have to resort to making up sandwiches and posting your concocsions on here and hope we are interested.

The obvious response to this would be to ask Are you so devoid of things to do that you have to "stalk" other posters, and be critical of what they have posted. When you yourself very rarely post on here at all and when you do its to remind people they are not being foody when your food input to this site is zero.

I have gammon and pineapple, peach or apricot all the time. So nothing too much wrong with a bacon and marmalade sandwich in my opinion.

Have you forgotten the competitions there have been on this site for creating sandwiches 55%Banana, or threads about your favourite filling, or most unusual filling?

I do hope you posted or emailed your displeasure at those too rather than just single out this one.

I think it sounds pretty good myself, fruit and meat are always a good combination.

Hardly a very interesting subject matter though is it?

And not at all worthy of 7 responses. Anybody can make a sandwich, anybody can fill it with what they find in the fridge and anybody can post about how "wicked" it was. but why you all have found it interesting enough to discuss is quite beyond me.

Maybe that certain element has still not completly been removed from this site.

Must ask GFL not to do anymore competitions or ask any more questions about sandwiches then. Or any of the lovely threads about making things out of what you happen to have in the fridge/cupboard/freezer at the time. If they are that unintresting and not worthy of 7 responses

I think we all know anyone CAN do it, what we find intresting is WHAT other people do, not you though? That is fine, you don't find it interesting, but why do you have to make such a big point of saying it? Why be so negative about other people and other threads? Why not start a thread of your own? Why not think of something YOU find interesting, post it, and let people post on that? Then leave the ones you don't find interesting alone like most other people do.

Whether off or On the Menu, life here is not going to change. Maybe they should fingerprint every poster. Hey that's an idea.

well boneyapper one very good change on or off the menu is that you are not being able to post over 100 times a day so that in itself is a major acheivement. whether they will allow you and the banana to disrupt the rest is something people will just have to wait and find out
personally speaking I have never had my fingerprints taken so they are not on file to check, from your post sarcastic or not I assume yours are. wonder why

I found crab, ketchup and apple is a yummy one, and sandwiches can lead to dishes, my little bro is the champion of weird sandwiches, he came up with pork and preserved lemon sandwiches, which led to my mom's best roast ever, (yes I do quote my mom a lot, but she makes amazing food) pork with preserved lemons and date gravy.

I used to have banana sandwiches all the time when I was a kid. With loads of sugar to make them crunchy.

Before my allergy... I also used to like cold fish finger sandwiches with brown sauce.

My favourite is crunchy peanut butter and marmite, it is even better on toast.

Marmite on its own, marmite with something else how disgusting, I cannot put into words how much I hate Marmite.

Marmite with cream cheese and pineapple wouldn't appeal then?

Anyway, any cracking sandwich would have to have eggs, wouldn't it? Or not worth shelling out for.

I am amazed that nobody has written in praise of the soggy sandwich. One of my faves is a cheese(Tasty Lancashire) and tomato sandwich but it should be made the day before, tightly wrapped and kept in the fridge to allow it to go soggy. Ham and tomato works well.
