Well, the time has come to tell you all what is happening with the biz. When we were in St Malo my leg kept dislocating and it was getting more painful trying to get it back in place. So we made the decision to sell up Dorset Cottage Foods to a friend of ours who is a Chef. She lives near Blandford Forum (8 miles from us) and she is going to keep all the recipes, plus add a few of her own. She has her own small holding and will be growing her own veg for the Range. She is just like us, passionate about the food and where it comes from and will be keeping all the range GF and Vegetarian.
So, no more DCF for us in 4 weeks time - Shame but it needs building up a bit and my legs won't do it. I currently work 20 hours a week and only cook 4 mornings a week, and at least Erika can cook all day and has the strength to do so.

Cheers

Nick

A New era awaits us all eh Nick and Sue. Well done for having made DCF as successfull as it is and all the best in your new life. I hope that all the family enjoy the next phase in your lives and that Erika carries on all the good work you have put in. Times are a changing for many of us so it goes to show that giving things a go can really change things around. Hug

Good luck with whatever you decide to venture into next Nick. If it has half of the passion of DCF it will be a success. Keep us informed.

I think you should write a book..The trials and tribulations of running a Chutney business...
What are you going to do next or is this retirement? Good luck with your life anyway whatever you do..

Thanks guys for your kind words - It will be a shame to see our baby grow up, but it's in the right hands. Erika is a Chef and she has got a lovely kitchen and garden produce to work from.

After 4 years it will be a bit strange, but it will be nice for my legs to have a break and not have to struggle moving in the mornings - But life is too short and I have 17 things on my to do list once we have sold DCF off

Cheers to you all for your inspiration and help and well everything - It has helped enormously.

Cheers

Nick and Sue

Hiya

Boy it's been a while since I've been on here - HELLO Big Grin

I have been busy doing up the house and spending some time in Hospital getting myself better.

I am busy setting up a new Business with a friend of mine and we are awaiting many Patents to come through and then next year start the new Business - Unfortunately it means having to find £1.8 million if we need to take it much further, but it should be fun. I'll tell you all about it when the Patents have come through.

We have bought a Mazda Bongo and go out and about with that for day trips etc, plus we have plans to spend 3 weeks in France next August and we are going to Montpellier/Avignon, Bordeaux and Lyon, so that should be fun - Sue is going to do all the driving as she is a better driver and enjoys driving in France, and I am a better map reader which is more needed where we are going Cheeky We might even try a trip up the Alps !!!

Hope you are all okay

Cheers

Is that a spelling mistake, a typo or just plain bad grammar 55%Banana?
That should be too, not to.
Either that or you should really have continued the sentence to form the full meaning. ie, have your dire jokes gone to Timbucktoo? Or the like.
