There is a new series of Come Dine With Me starting next week, Channel 4 at 4.30 I think. Enjoyed the last one...hope the next series will be as entertaining.

Hmmm - I enjoyed it very much too but just had a look on the sky guide and it's a 'celebrity' version. Mica Parrish on Tuesday (Monday is cricket) and Ulrika (thingy) on Wednesday. I reeeeeaaally don't enjoy celebrity programmes. Give me every day folk every time.

Oh how I agree with you Flaky, I HATE the way they "celebritise" everything. What a shame. The best part of that prog was the mixture of participants. Maybe future weeks will be the same old format...I hope so.

No, don't know the name of it Vic, but I agree, It looked wonderful, didn't it.

Oh yes I love looking at the kitchens too although I loved Ben De Lisi's bathroom. In fact I loved his whole house. Will certainly be tuning in today.

Must admit this was better than I was expecting, I don't watch Celebrity thingies at all but I did enjoy this one. The Jamaican food from Mica looked good too. I think Ben could have done with putting the dogs upstairs though on his evening.
No recipes on their site yet however.

I was just wondering if someone knew the name of the Italian food shop featured in yesterday's Come Dine With Me (tue 13th sept)? It looks like a great place, but unfortunately the programme did not reveal the name or location of the shop. Any ideas?

What was the food like, and her kitchen LOL??

She did risotto for starters (which looked awful but they seemed to enjoy it). Main course was sea bass which Mica Parrish didn't enjoy but the others did and Chocolate Nemesis (choccy cake) for dessert which they all enjoyed. Her kitchen was big but pretty ordinary really.

I watched todays program with Helen and wanted to make the poppy seed cheese cake so went to the channel 4 website, I found the recipe but think I must have been seeing thing because in the recipe it doesnt mention cooking the cheese cake Has anyone get any ideas if it should be cooked or not? Thanks lisa

Well Helen baked hers, because it was leaking out of the tin while in the oven, but can't say for how long, usually it's in a fairly cool slow oven, so it sets
Think I'd look for a similar baked cheesecake recipe, on the site, and see how long they bake theirs for.

I have just had a look at the recipe on their website, and it looks full of errors to me. What do you do with the sultanas and the lemon vodka? and no mention of baking it . I would stick to Nigellas New York Cheesecake and put some poppy seeds on top

I seem to remember that the poppy seeds should have gone into the cheesecake mixture, but Helen forgot, so put them on the top :-))
I made Blueberry muffins the other week, and forgot to put the blueberries in..so I can't really say anything, can I LOL ?

This new batch seems er..interesting.. don't like the bloke..not my type at all..

No I'm not keen on him either. I've just finished watching today's episode and I can't believe how he kept going on about not getting a beer! I will be very interested to see what he cooks tomorrow.

I thought his food looked very nice and he should have got marked a bit higher by the lady who only gave him 5!

Is anyone else quite shocked that Keeley cheated on today's programme? I would be furious if I had gone to all the effort of cooking a meal and then lose out to someone who hasn't even had the decency to cook the meal herself! Of course it's going to be delicious - a professional chef cooked it! I can't believe she thought that was more stressful than cooking the meal herself!

She got very high marks though didn't she, I do think it was cheating and I can't believe anybody thought she had really cooked it all herself!

Yeah I know! Surely they would realise there were no smells coming from the kitchen? Also when someone was helping her clear away the dishes there was nothing being cooked. I don't think she should have been allowed to do that.

As she said on the programme, she put a piece of fish in the oven to make it smell as if she had been cooking.

Also, you generally expect people to be fairly honest and you can't go around accusing other people of cheating and then lying when people ask if you have made the food yourself.
