I'll tell you what happened to mine! It is at the top of the kitchen cupboard collecting dust! The family got smaller and it became too much of a bother to clean. Now I just use smaller pots and pans.
Only when I have a 'do' do I get it down as an extra cooking utensil.

My electric frying pans are alive and kicking - fab for use when you've got a saucepan on all other available rings of the cooker and I've got two - one which is quite deep and ideal for doing bolognese, chilli, etc, and the other is shallow and ideal for paella or kedgeree.

I still have mine, don't use it too often but wouldn't part with it.

You could try www.amazon.co.uk they have a Tefal gourmet multi cooker and a Prestige A La Carte Electric 28cm Non-stick cooker.

Thanks TerryDox for the amazon info.

Widget - you may wish to have a look there also.

I sold both my frying pan and griller when I moved back to UK thinking I would pick new ones up cheaply and easily!!!

I used to use mine for roast potatoes, breakfasts and those really healthy (not) fry ups!

Interestingly an electric frying pan is often part of the equipment supplied in self catering accommodation over here. I had never used one before but they are really good.

Hi TerryDox, nice to see you again.

Hi Mary, it is good to see you posting again also.

This was one of those gadgets I always wanted but could never afford at the time they were popular. Like KoKo I would have thought they were no longer manufactured but then vaguely remembered seeing one advertised somewhere fairly recently.

They keep flogging similar pans to the tefal mentioned by Terrydox on QVC and Ideal World (both .co.uk) so you could give those a try also.

I have a Tefal Versalio. Never released properly in the Uk apart from the Ideal Home shows and some of the factory outlet shops. Its a cross between electric frying pan, fryer and warmer. Its brilliant and I use it all the time. They are like gold dust. If you are lucky enough to find one (ebay is the best) you will have to pay around £50+. Or go to Eastern Europe where they are sold in the shops.

Matt,

We have something in common - I too have a Versalio and it is very good and versatile isn't it?

How about the Remoska? I don't have one, but i think you can fry things in them and roast as well.
