Why are the cherries in M&S and Morrisons - and no doubt in many other supermarkets - from Canada?
Where are all the wonderful cherries from Kent, especially the Naps or White cherries that M&S used to sell? Are the French cherries - featured in this edition of UKTV Food - only to be found in France?
With best wishes from a cherry fanatic in Glasgow.

God yes, I love those yellowy white cherries! I haven't seen them for a few years now.... Don't you hate the way our supermarkets control what we eat!

I managed to get English cherries in Sainsbury the other day. However, I refused to buy their onions and organic cucumber as they came from Holland and Bulgaria.

Surely these very basic vegetables must be grown in the UK. Small wonder you have to use fruit and veg right away as most of it does not keep for long.
