Why be sorry? Keep it up!

I use pure fruit juices, may have to water some down a little as freezing concentrates the flavour. Any flavours you like really but Pineapple and coconut is lovely, so is the watermelon and tropical fruits one. I also make "mini milk" type ones using condensed milk, you can dip the tops in melted choccie just before eating too.

Thanks, Fantasia, I'll try that later on. If I make separate ones too, would it work if I put alcohol in the adult ones, and fruit juice in the kids?

You mean adding some alcohol to some of the juice for the adult ones? Yes of course, but remember not too much or the alcohol will stop them from freezing.

For really fruity ones, pureed tinned or fresh fruit can work well, again with a little slug if you like for the adults. But taste in case you need some icing sugar.

Wow, thanks, I have to go to Tesco anyway, so I'll have a look for some tropical summer juices! I think I might add some melon piece or something for the kids. I'll also try your condensed milk -choccie combo, sounds delicious. I'll let you know how I get on!

Hi Kirsty
My friends kids love these and so do the adults even if they are a bit childish. Make up Instant whip as normal and then freeze. My lolly stick only reach half way so I usually do two flavours in one lolly - they come out a bit like mini milks. They're not that healthy but at least they have calcium in them.
For a more healthy treat, cut a banana in half and put on a stick to freeze - really simple. I usually put a little bit of alcohol in some melted chocolate and dip them in then cover with hundreds and thousands (obviously not for the kids). But the childishness of the thing really appeals to adults.

Thanks Roasted, I think I'll try both ideas this weekend. It's not very nice weather outside, so no lollies yet! Smile

Hi Kirsty
I have made ice lollies for my kids using tin fruit in natural juices which i puree and mix with a natural yogurt or a complimentary fruit yoghurt. when frozen i do the dip in melted chocolate bit with hundreds n thousands on top!! yummy and a bit healthier than the instant whip ones!

Hi Kirsty,

I make fruit + yogurt ice lollys use 75ml (2 1/2 fl oz) blackcurrent syrup and 150ml (5 fl oz) strawberry yogurt.
All you have to do is mix the syrup and yogurt together and then put them in the lolly moulds ( or whatever you use!) and put them into the freezer Big Grin
