bara brith, champagne, Fino, Amontillado, Retsina, Reisling, Bordeausx, Burgandy,Alsace, haggis, cassarole, quiche. How many more word in a foreign language will you exclude from this website? Any of the above? Goodness we could really go on and on.... the whole of the English language, by and large is made up of foreign words. Oh wait for it...Rustie and co...I bet one ofher alta egos has something to say.

Hear what ur saying, but that's what the whole concept of the site is about surely,exchanging ideas,recipes,advice & so on,After all are we not a multi-cultural country sw305. Confused

A lot of recipes have foreign names so why isn't lasagne deleted etc. It doesn't make sense, in fact the German terms for basil and other herbs are very similar to the English. Spangler I'm just as Confused as you. Smile

You will find most of the words you example in the Oxford dictionay as words adopted into the English language. Even so, the others are all culinary terms or ingredients etc., so what exactly is your point?
Spangler, are you confused by the post and what it means? I certainly am.
Maybe to much emphasis on champagne, Fino, Amontillado, Retsina, Reisling, Bordeausx, Burgandy,Alsace and not enough on the true purpose of the site. Why such a hostile nature towards the site and other members, if you don't like it here why keep posting
