Any of the above? Goodness we could really go on and on.... the whole of the English language, by and large is made up of foreign words. What is the point of the thread apart to stir up trouble?

A lot of recipes have foreign names so why isn't lasagne deleted etc. It doesn't make sense, in fact the German terms for basil and other herbs are very similar to the English. Spangler I'm just as as you.

You will find most of the words you example in the Oxford dictionay as words adopted into the English language. Even so, the others are all culinary terms or ingredients etc., so what exactly is your point?
