Hi there, I feel I would like to treat mself to something a little smaller than my standard magimix. Have been tempted by the amazing bullet, but understand the new magimix Le Micro can do the same things - but does anyone know if it grates (my pet hate)! Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

I love my Le Micra and I have done very hard parmesan cheese but nothing else. It makes wonderful curry pastes, crushes ice, chops onions, makes breadcrumbs, chops nuts all instantly and you change to a plastic blade to make mayonnaise. If you would like me to test anything particularly I will, let me know. My daughter liked it so she took the first one I bought for her b present (in advance) and I had to go and get another!! Smile

I have done hard parmesan cheese and it was very successful. What would you like tested and I will give it a try and report back?
It is an excellent machine which I find incredibly useful and seem to use daily. Have made curry pastes, breadcrumbs, crushed ice, chopped nuts, peanut butter, coulis and with the plastic blade mayonnaise. It is guaranteed five years too. Smile

I've got a Kenwood mixer and equally pleased with its performance! Big Grin

Thanks for the info - my kitchen is very tiny - how much room does Le Micra take up? The bullet claims to only take up the space of a coffee cup. Gellie - excuse my ignorance please, how do you grate parmesan, does it have a grating blade? Do you think it would happily grate a normal cheddar type cheese? Any more info would be gratefully received. Because of my very limited kitchen space everything has to earn its space! Thanks again.

It is bigger than the bullet, I will measure it later, but it is more robust and very stable. Yes does cheddar fine, you just pulse it and the finer you want it the more you do so in essense it chops finer and finer. On Deliaonline she has a magimix section and that is where I read a description of it. Also you can see one in John Lewis. Makes amazing sandwich fillings, exepcially when you add celery because it chops it really fine but you still get a crunch as you eat it. Have also done pesto in two pulses.

Thanks for the info Gellie - I think my mind is pretty much made up - I'm going to have to get one - though if you get chance to let me have approximate size it would be great. Thanks again. Big Grin

It is 4.5" wide by about 9" tall, that includes the top of the lid. You really must go and see one first, if you don't have a John Lewis nearby what about the Magimix website to locate your nearest stockist?

We don't have a John Lewis anywhere near, so the website is probably the best bet - though it does sound perfect. We do have a Lakeland & Steamer Trading but not sure where my Magimix was bought as it was a pressie. Thanks for all your help Gellie - I'll let you know how I get on!

I love watching Tamsin Day-Lewis but I do wish she would tie her hair back when cooking. She makes everything look so easy, also her utensils always look so well used. I don't cook much myself these days as I have a very kind Daughter-in-law who cooks all my main meals for me.I live in a 'grannie flat' and still work despite my age!!
