Can anyone tell me where to buy agar agar (vegi gelatine, online or otherwise.I need it to make champagne jellies and can't find it anywhere. Please help!

In Tesco Sainsbury's etc., it is usually with the home baking section, next to the quick jels. I know Sainsburys sell vegigel, but these do not set as well as gelatine so be careful when making. I think if I was you I would try it out on a sparkling wine (cheaper) first to see how it goes.

If you can't find it in the supermarkets as Jenny says, healthfood shops also sell agar agar sometimes (where is Mary from oz when you need her?) but if not then Culpeper sell it online. www.culpeper.co.uk/

Agar-agar can be found in most Chinese supermarkets, in London especially the New Loon Moon Supermarket, China Town. I use them a lot, so if I go to London China Town, I will visit that store. There is 2 types, one is grainy which is very easy to use and in long blocks (very light in weight)which needs to be cut up in smaller cubes and boil in hot water until dissolve.
