Please does anyone have a recipe for either a tuna quiche or a tart as I'd like to make one for our village picnic on Sunday? I know there's a recipe by Lesley Walters on this site but I'd rather not use tomatoes. Thanks Smile

Hi Snowy

I quite often make Tuna and sweetcorn and onion quiche (the sweetcorn/onion can be omitted no problem). I usually use 5 eggs plus about 200 ml milk for an 8 inch quiche, add a small chopped onion, seasoning and a well drained tin of tuna, and a well drained small tin of sweetcorn. Enjoy!

This can be printed - It is my own recipe!
SAVOURY TART (QUICHE)

2 EGGS
1½ CUPS MILK
3 TBS. SELF-RAISING FLOUR
1 CUP GRATED CHEESE
CAYENNE PEPPER, SEASONING ETC.

USE FILLING OF OWN CHOICE, E.G. : -
TUNA, BACON, HAM, ONION, MUSHROOMS SPINACH, CHICKEN ETC. OR COMBINATIONS OF CHOICES.
1. MIX TOGETHER ALL INGREDIENTS EXCEPT FILLINGS.
2. PLACE FILLINGS IN GREASED PIE DISH
3. POUR OVER BATTER MIXTURE, SPRINKLE WITH CHEESE AND BAKE @140?C FOR 40 MINS.
? ALWAYS COOK FILLINGS FIRST ESPECIALLY MUSHROOMS AS THEY DRAW WATER AND CAN CAUSE QUICHE NOT TO SET.

That seems more like a toad in the hole grannyboo

I would say a rectangle of shortcrust pastry, topped with tuna, onions, peppers and sweetcorn. Cheese sauce. Then cover in puff pastry lattice and seal well at the edges.
