I think Lakeland Ltd (www.lakelandlimited.co.uk) do one big square tin that you can adjust the sides to make different sized tins. I don't know how successful this is cos I have loads of baking stuff in all different sizes and what I haven't got I borrow from the Paris restaurant. But I do know that baking tins can be horrendously expensive and this may be a cheaper way of gaining several sizes for the several tiers you may wish to make.

Where I stay there is a shop which sells equipment for baking and decorating cakes, loads and loads of stuff. They hire out tins so maybe if you've got a cake decorating shop or a friendly baker that could be your cheapest option. Good luck

Where are you, currydave? We have a local shop that hires out cake tins - all shapes and sizes. They also do all the decorations and cake boxes!!

I have got the lakeland tin mammachef described, its very good. The smallest the cakes go are 6inch square. Try your local bakery, they may hire out their tins, I know the one in my mums village does.

Big Grin Mamma Chef
All of my tins and spatulas are now silicone. I have no problem with them under any level of heat and find the cakes more moist and last longer. No complaints.

Thanks FORDY,

I'm always interested in hearing about kitchen equipment. I've got several flexi tins, the red ones. I got them from nisbets and they cost alot. I will pop into my local TK Max next time I'm that way, but it's quite a small shop. It may be worth my while going to the big one that's half an hour drive away.

Thanks again Big Grin

Smile Mamma, Ask Jeeves for flexi bake and it will throw up a few in grey, round square and muffin moulds. Le Crueset do them on Amazon in Orange (expensive). TK MAX do several in Sky Blue in several styles, ie. fish, square, loaf, round, clown head etc, etc.£3-£8

Bought a few silicone tins in TKMax they bring them in from the States where they are very popular.

The Lakeland tin is great , its ine of the Alan Silverwood range and they are usually available from good cookshops too.
I have the 12 inch which makes every size down to 1 inch squares and they turn out with good square edges,Essential for icing as in a wedding cake.
