I noticed they had a jug of P J on GFB yesterday to serve with champagne for the Mothers Day brunch dish.... Does anybody know if you can buy the juice in cartons or bottles from supermarkets , and if so, which one

Sorry ohforgodssake, I don't know. But if you like pomegranates I think you will love pomegranate molases. It's a thick syrupy sauce made from the fruit itself and is absolutely delicious used as a salad dressing. It acts in a similar way to balsamic vinegar when used as a salad dressing, bringing a sweetness etc.

I do have a bottle in the fridge which I use quite regularly. Was thinking about it while going round tesco this morning and wondered whether they were using Grenadine?

I know that Pomegranate had been hailed as one of the new "super foods" so would like to use it more often.

I just thought the juice would be an easier way of including it in the diet.

The owner of our local Italian restaurant made us a Belini on friday when we were in for a meal. He used tinned peaches as the ones you get just now have no flavour. Whiz the peaches with syrup in a blender till fairly smooth. Mix in grenadine and top up with Italian fizz - the good stuff who's name ecapes me for the moment. Lovely

ohforgodssake, there are different types of pomergranate molases, some sweet and some sour. Its used quite abit in middleastern cookery. But nothing matches the taste of the fresh juice, unfortunately not availabe except in London from Lebanese juice bars and restaurants

One Italian Chef on BBC who was Italain used the juice for making a good pasta sauce. Mind you I never tried it but I guess it would be nice for a change. He also said the sauce could be used over meat.

You can buy Pomegranate Juice Drink in most supermarkets. Not a syrup for cooking but a juice along the lines of 5 Alive etc. It is delicious and even my local, small Tesco's sells it so should think that it is readily available.

Hi sarah, hope your day was good yesterday. Here Pomegranate trees grow. But we mainly use them as a fruit to eat. I am sure the juice tastes great. Is it expensive?

I saw PJ in Morrisons but it is a juice drink so has other things added which I can't remember off the top of my head.

OFGS - Try Sainsbury's at £1.29 per carton - I notice they now to Pomegranate and Blueberry - haven't tried it yet though. Mrs WW
