Yesterday I was browsing the message boards for ideas for a curry meal for when my family come to visit. My son-in- law makes a good Biryani. I noticed an August 2004 post from Wicksy which recommended www.curryclub.worldbreak.com. I downloaded lots of recipes and tried one tonight. It was superb. So thanks Wicksy and I recommend the site to anyone who wants a reliable curry recipe.(I usually use my Maddhur Jaffrey cook book but the ones on Curryclub are much easier to follow.)

I've got an old book from the Shish Mahal in Glasgow - the recipes are brilliant but then so was the restaurant. You'll remember it Bestmum. How are you? Long time no see (or read). Have a chat with Kirsty's teachers - they'll know if she has any weaknesses or if she's just having a pre exam panic. Sorry that's a different thread but never mind. Big Grin

I find anything goes with coconut cream-I've concocted several unauthentic recipes with the ingredients I have at hand-may I suggest a spice blend that I was particularly impressed by-not "kosher" but I have found invaluable. It's actually from ASDA-I know I'm predictable-called tikka spice blend-don't go all snobby on me -just try it-it contains only garlic(loads),paprika, salt, sugar, coriander, ginger, cumin, turmeric, fennel, chilli, dill, pepper, clove, celery seed, nutmeg
Try marinating chicken pieces in the spice powder plus light olive oil-not authentic but good for your heart. Give it at least 20 min to 24 hours, then lightly fry in more olive oil-use ghee if you must-just think of your arteries!. In a separate pan warm 1/4 pt coconut milk /coconut cream plus veg stock cube plus 1 tsp tamarind paste, warm through then add fried meat and cook till tender-20 min or so-enjoy Big Grin

Did you see Ching's one tonight - looked lovely, I usually use fruit in mine also but cheat at the same time with Campbells Chicken soup and add some spices, white wine and curry powder - will def give Chings a go!
