Does anyone know why we're not supposed to feed leftover potatoes to our dogs? I heard Jenni say it yesterday and am a bit concerned as there's nothing my dogs like better on a Sunday than leftover roasties.

I think it's chocolate you're not supposed to feed to them. It's very bad for them and can kill them.. That's why you can buy the special choccies for pets.

Hi, Helen is right about choccy as it is poison to dogs. Also, avoid tofu or bean products as they can cause stomage bloat which is life threatening. Just to finish off, dairy products are bad too. Otherwise, since dogs are omnivors you can cook for them as you would for humans, balanced diet with an eye to vitamins etc. Our Border Terrier loves an aoccasional roast beef dish. Woof Woof.

Yes it was chocolate - damages the nervous system and can kill them. The choccy drops specially made for dogs are fine. But Jeni also said corn, however, I think it was the corn cob she gave her dog and that can cause problems. It did with my dog. Gave him one to play with and chomp on. Missed most of what she was saying though.

Yes, I also heard Jenni say chocolate, potatoes and sweet corn. I would never give my dog chocolate (accept doggy ones) but he loves potatoes and leftover pasta, tuna, sweetcorn & peas! Confused

Can someone tell Jenni that she has the best job in the world! And that if she ever fancies a break and can get no-one to fill in for her (as if!!!), I'm quite prepared to go out of my way, come down to the studios and help out testing/tasting all those delicious recipes! Big Grin
