Hi Bananarama and welcome to the boards.

The link here on these boards..[link] if I have stretched the first page now everyone) is for alot of recipes on here for diet, like low fat recipes, etc.

But I am sure others can advise you more than me as I do not eat very healthily!

Sorry, bananarama. If you can add butter and more salt that's my type of food. I am sure that others will be of more use to you.

A good idea is to take a "normal" recipe and make it healthier. For example Shepherd's Pie, and add more vegetables, reduce the fat, use less carbohydrate in the topping. Look for Low-Fat recipe books for ideas in your time and price range. There is a recipe on todays Good Food Bites for a pumpkin and chick pea casserole that is pretty healthy, especially if you use less oil. Learn to adapt recipes...and choose ones that show your skills in class as well.Good Luck.

Welcome to the boards bananarama,

Try using plenty of vegetables, oily fish and leaner cuts of meat. Cut down on salt, sugar and fats. The fresher the ingredients the better, they contain more of their minerals and vitamins when fresh.

Let us know if you need anything more specific and how you are getting on with your course. Smile

steaming veg is also healthier as they dont loose their vitamins in the cooking process, and they look nicer too.Steaming fish, adding lots of tasty things like chopped garlic, ginger, chilli, fresh herbs etc, makes a great tasty healthy meal.

Part of good research involves using a variety of methods to get your results. For example books, magazines leaflets, product information and of course these days the Internet. Providing the student does the relevant written work to back-up their research, then their work both written and practical should then show evidence of sound research.
