I use my slicer/shredder,chipper etc. just about everyday. Lately bought the gaufrette gadget and I am really showing off. In fact I have a second slicer in our holiday home, never want to be without either. Judy

WMF are a German manufacturer of metal things - usually plated decorative items - is this the same company?
Favourite toy at the moment is a space age looking whisk with nobbles on the ends - got it as a Christmas pressie last year and love it to bits - best whisk I've ever used!!. Looks too pretty to be useful though. Big Grin Develish

Confused Cep, where did you get that whisk?? Saw one in Amsterdam airport, didn't buy it because I thought I could get one when I got home but have never been able to find one. 'Sir' would love it - he is really into gadgetty things (just ask Porridge!!) Hug Hug

I'll ask my sister in law and let you know. It looks quite kinky but really is brilliant Big Grin

My indispensable kitchen gadget is my timer. I am such a hectic type of person ... I put something in the oven and then go off and do something else. If I didn't ALWAYS put my timer in my apron pocket I would burn everything!

Cep can you confirm if this is the sort of whisk you mean:

If it is I have also seen them for sale in TK-Maxx but that is a bit hit and miss in terms of them being in stock.

Yup TerryDox - that's it!! Very space age but can be used in any pan and gets into corners - also surprisingly easy to clean Big Grin
Sis in law can't remember where she got it but she does shop in TKMax so that's a possibility

Wish the heck I had bought one now. I usually can't resist gadgets but that one looked just so odd that I managed to resist for once. I can't remember for sure how much it was but I think about the £4 mark.

Terry haven't you ever heard that expression, 'you only regret what you don't do'? Oh it is so true!

I didn't buy an ice cream machine when I saw it ... thought I'd get Keith to buy it for me for Christmas. Huh! Sold out now.

So very true Mary, that is why I am so disappointed in myself.

A lifetime of training in buying things without any previous thought or obvious need and I miss out on a bargain at the one time I could have had something sort of useful.

Sheesh!

Thanks for the words of comfort Mary.

I am off today, just a man's sniffle you understand, so I may make up for it by descending on Boundary Mills. There is bound to be some sales stuff that is so useless that it has not sold yet.

That will make up for it a bit. Develish

Oh no! A sniffle, that's major in man speak. Poor old you. No idea what you are talking about when you say Boundary Mills, sorry! But it sounds like a shopping place. However, if you are sick you really should stay at home with hot toddies I think.

Sorry Mary, I forgot you may not know what the Boundary Mill is.

Basically a largish retail outlet with many different retailers inside, clothing, furnishings, shoes, glassware, crockery etc.

Oh, and of course kitchenware complete with hard to get gadgets.

Your full understanding of the severity of a man's sniffle is much appreciated, and I have had so many hot toddies that need to be breathalysed before I go out!

Sympathy winging its way across the miles, Terry. And if you were thinking what I was thinking earlier, phew, it's gone.

Boundary Mill sounds a bit like a factory outlet village. Am I close? Bargain prices?
