Hi Steve

I'm sure I read last week that there's a shortage of lard in Europe because the salami producers are buying it all up (presumably to make salami!). Also, I suppose there's a greater demand at the moment cos of mince pie and Christmas pudding production.

Doesn't seem, to be a problem here down in the south, plenty on sleves yesterday.

There's a definite shortage up here in Leeds - getting concerned there won't be any mince pies on my christmas dinner table! Disaster!!! Maybe you lot from Essex could post some up to Yorkshire! Cheeky

I got curious about this so made a point of checking in the North East, the three supermarkets that I have been in since Sunday had no shortages. The shelves wern't exactly bulging with a glut of lard but definitely not bare.
