Can anyone tell me where I can buy Sterno Chafing fuel (by mail order if necessary.It is a petroleum based gel, and can be used for fondues, cooking outdoors etc.One pot burns for 2 hours. What could be the equivalent. Thanks.

Hi, you can get it from nisbets, here is the link [link] hope that helps, but in my fondue, I just use meths or surgical spirit but you have to have a regulator on your burner for this method.

I phoned both the scout shop and a big camping shop, but they only sell gas. Ceonline charge over £9 for delivery for orders under £50, which seems a lot when 1 pot of Sterno costs £1.75, and I only want 3 or 4!! At the end of the day, if needs must.......

well then try Nisbett again, they do charge for delivery for orders under £75 but I think it is under £5 so still better than the £9. You never know kromusdomus, you may even see other things you fancy when you go and look at their website.

Mammachef, that was the answer!! I've ordered 4 pots (much cheaper too) and even with postage, it's just over £10. Thank you Rustie and Mammachef, I knew I'd get the help I needed.
