Please stop tv chefs from constantly referring to their ingredients and equipment as "ours" - it isn't ours, i have nothing at all to do with it. Petty but so irritating and James Martin is the worst offender. It's his - he's cooking it.

It's not 'chef speak'........it's 'yorkshire speak', it's just the way yorkshire people talk. I think all of our regional differences are wonderful and long may it stay that way, it would be awful if we were all the same bland copy of one another. From a very proud geordie lass now living in Spain. Wink

Hi sjt, sorry have to agree with Sue and Porridge, Im from Yorkshire and its a regional phrase. sorry if we irritate you.
I spent years in London and confused lots of people by saying "now then" instead of helloo. took a while for me to realise no one down there used that phrase. Big Grin

Hi Porridge, it's a bit dull and overcast at the moment and we've had 2 or 3 spots of rain this lunch-time even though it's still 22'C. I knew something would happen as the company I work for are sponsoring an outdoor bowls comp and it's my turn to do the last couple of hours today 4-6pm, no doubt we'll have torrential rain, gales and possibly even snow during these 2 hours, thank heavens there's a bar and I can shout encoragement from there. Hi Lil'Abby.... yes I live in the old part of Mijas Pueblo, well away from the tourists and donkey rides. I chose that as my name because I couldn't have my own name, Sue, it was already taken, and I have to have something I can remember easily. I'm about 15 miles from Nueva Andalucia, near Fuengirola but 5 miles up into the mountains. It's colder today and overcast, needed to put a jacket on this morning as it was only 17'C when I left for work. Pity I didn't know that you were coming over as there are 3 of us on this site who live around here and we meet for lunch every few weeks, hopefully this friday is our next lunch. Any members coming over would be most welcome to join us.Sue Cool

Hi Sue - lovely part of Spain where you are isn't it? I was looking at all the lovely mountain and sea views when we were driving along. Beautiful. I live in the South West of England and we have gale force winds and heavy rain at the moment - horrendous!! Frown Enjoy your next get together won't you? Smile

Hi Lil'Abby my boss is from the South West,Tiverton,Devon (and so is the UK office of the company that I work for Gillingham,Dorset) My boss is over there at the moment enjoying the weather !!!!! I'm very lucky as my house in Mijas is really high up, backs onto the mountain and faces out over the med, we're so high up that we can see right across to Africa. Sometimes on a very cloudy morning it's just like looking out of an aeroplane window when you're flying above the clouds all we can see is white fluffy clouds, it's a bit like living in Brigadoon (remember the film) Sue Cool

Sue, we have spent a few holidays in that area and it's lovely. Maybe next year we are thinking of going back. We have seen a place in Mijas Costa at La Cala that we may look at booking so I may come and ask for some recommendations for places to eat nearer the time, and maybe meet up for a sangria Wink Big Grin
