Hi, can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative to champers, we have a birthday celebration at the weekend and I want to serve something similar to champagne so my guests won't find out what a cheapskate I am!!!!

Oops, just replied to this under your other thread. You could try a Cava or Lindaur, both are just as acceptable I think.

I live in Spain and so always celebrate with Cava as oppose to Champagne. Cava is cheaper, and I think it is better too.

How about Italian Spumante or Prosecco, they are both lovely to drink, you can find sweet or dry, but check the label says DOC on it to guarantee quality.
