We'll be featuring some posh nosh in a grand-dinner-party style way on Friday, so let us know what your most luxurious nibbles have been. Or tell us about the most disastrous dinner party you've had or been to! We'd love to hear from you.....

My favourite, yet not so posh things to eat are little appetisers that consist of a small piece of toasted bread, with a slice of tomato, a slice of mozzerella and a basil leaf on top; all drizzled in a lovely balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing! YUM!!!!

i had some friends for lunch the other week and tried out a new menu that i thought up...starter was a tower of chopped fresh tomato with crab and thinly sliced cucumber. then i served fillet steak in a herb crust sat on a bed of horseradish mash , garnished with gently fried oyster mushrooms and oven roasted baby shallots, drizzled with a red wine gravy. pud was a delicate chocolate mousse with a quinnel of cream and garnished with grated choc.dish was so easy to prep and sooo yummy to eat...

Abalone, caught fresh by my brother in law off the coast north
of San Fransisco. Then cooked on a barbeque within an hour. Not exactly extravagant but they cost a bomb in a restaurant!!

Hi DB's, i had my first taste of that in new zealand, a friend went diving in the sea with his knife, prized off this sea slug that came in a beautiful coloured shell, then we took it home, it was sliced, sprinkled simply with salt and pepper and then as u said they barbied it, but sorry i couldnt eat it, must say i was the only one that didnt though!!!

Light lunch for 2 in Cornwall 1999 - beluga caviar on blinis followed by lobster salad, all washed down with a bottle of vintage Krug. Smile

Rice cooked in bamboo with tiny shrimps etc for flavour, gently boiled baby ferns, ostrich in a savoury gravy, wild boar also in a savoury gravy, deep fried mulberry leaves (on the house cos the owner of the restaurant was gobsmacked at seeing my brother order in Chinese, and at me - an 'English Rose' - aka wishy washy redhead!), and a light, fresh soup made from the same tiny shrimps, which were swimming about in a stream beside us as we ate!

Truffles from Alba (Italy) grated onto Pasta & also made into a pate. I've never eaten anything so heavenly in my life.

Not exactly extravagant, but it was certainly the most resourceful thing I have eaten. Whole roasted duck where the crispy skin was sliced off and used as a filling for crispy duck pancakes, the meat was then used for a stir-fry with fresh pineapple, and finally, the bones were used for a broth - All in one meal!

But for ultimate extravagance, it must be Beluga Caviar washed down with a few shots of vodka
