I wonder has any one else had this problem, the last few packets of spinach that i have purchased from the supermarket has tasted musty.No matter how i cook it and how may times i wash it it still has a musty after taste, last night i cooked it and stirred in some yogurt and nutmeg put the mixture in to a red pepper backed it and it still tasted the same.

Hi Pam22, sounds like you need a chat with your supermarket. The musty smell and taste suggest the spinach is old and starting to rot, this is why you cannot cover the taste with cooking or seasoning. The other thought is that the washing process prior to packaging may be faulty and is contaminating the spinach.

Agree with Chef de Maison.It sounds like it's past it's prime and will also have a bitter taste.
