I know this may sound a bit thick to a lot of you hear....but i have been nagged by my husband for ages to make some pate well i just watched Gary Rhodes make some and it looks really easy (i thought it would be hard)....
Anyway can anyone tell me if i add clarified butter to the top of the pate how long can i keep it for?????

Thanks
Rachel

It really shouldn't be kept for long even with clarified butter Rachel. A few days, 4 at the most. It does freeze well though, so you could make a batch and freeze blocks between grease proof paper and just put a little in your fridge at any one time.

Hi Rachel,

Can do, it won't make a lot of difference. It's not necessary though so I would say only do so if you've already finished it off that way. If not, I wouldn't bother. Hope it turns out really tastey.

Hi , I have made and freezed it many times without the clarified butter . It lasts for ages but make sure you wrap it up well to prevent freezer burn.
