fromage frais instead of natural yoghurt?

I'm guessing I can, but can fromage frais be used as a substitute for natural yoghurt in a marinade? Can't be bothered to drive all the way to Tesco just for some yoghurt when I've got gallons of fromage frais to try to use up!!!!!! Smile

found half a pot of greek yoghurt lurking in the fridge so used that....... would still be interested to know about using fromage frais though - I've got a huge tub to get through!! Big Grin

Fromage frais is basically a low fat curd cheese to which cream is added to make it suitable for either breakfast use or richer as a topping. Glad you had some yog. Smile

the greek yoghurt worked perfectly (mixed with harissa paste and used on chicken breasts ) - glad I found the yoghurt!

I imagine it would create a different flavour as fromage frais is not as tangy but I would have tried it. You could have created an even better recipe.
