I am moving to America in October
The only thing that is really going to upset me is that i won't be able to get UKTV Food in America let alone Goodfood Live

I really don't know how i'm going to cope, at least i will still be able to use the web site

Can anyone tell me if i can get the following magazines in America
Good Food
Delicious
Olive
As i really enjoy and look forward to get these mags and will really miss them when i'm out there

Good Food do a subscription, rates for Europe and also the rest of the world and since Olive is also from the same stable, so to speak, they might do so as well. Delicious will as well (making big assumption here) so you will still get your mags and with the web site you won't lose touch.

nope, rachel, i don't think you can get any of the mags. the BEST place to look (besides the net of course) would be in Barnes and Noble or Borders bookstores. they have loads of mags and several from this side of the pond. do i remember right from another post that you are going to ohio? best of luck to you...and don't worry, there are some great chefs, food mags and cooking programmes on there as well!

i should have said...you can't get them AS easily as you could here. i get a couple of magazines from the us but it just takes longer for them to arrive.

There's a food channel in America but I dare say it's Very American and nothing quite as clever as "our friend" Jeni and her guests. I'm moving to Holland next month so I know how you feel about not being able to watch GFL, but I was happy to see some segments are now available as broadband video on the website. That's tremendous, really great to see, at least I'll be able to see some of the programme. Any chance the people at UKTV could put the entire programme online at all? Gluttony, gluttony, I know, but this one is the best.

Oh and PS, you lot should go "on location" to Amsterdam when the naked chef's fifteen restaurant opens up over there... Bye bye, sniff sniff..

rachel6...GOD...it took me FOREVER to find this post...but i HAD to because I just thought of something...trivial as it may be...BUT...when you go to the states, if you LOVE blackcurrant flavoured things, take them with you. there is virtually NOTHING with blackcurrant flavour over there. sadly, i thought about this as i was eating a couple of my kids' Starburts...the purple ones (like all sweets here) are ovbiously blackcurrant flavoured. in the states, all the purple things are grape flavoured. i love all things blackcurrant, but one of the things we'd always bring back (besides the obvious sweets) were bc flav. throat sweets!!!! good luck to you and your family...i'll be thinking of you (hugs!) becca

I managed to find out that they do a subscription for The Good Food Mag in America but it's very expensive

My husband has just told me that they do it in Barnes and Noble he found it last time he was over there So that makes things a bit better....

Thankyou for the well wishes and i'm sure i will love it over there but the thought is very daunting at the prospect of going to a country to live that you have never even been to before

But you can't get rid of me that easily as I will still be paying loads of visits to this web site...

If anyone wants a cheap holiday then just let me now and i'm sure we can sort out some cheap rates of bed and breakfast
