Hola,

I'm in kid/in-law houseguest hell and can't watch as often as I'd like......

So, I can't remember any more detail than this fab potatoe recipe was an accompaniment to one of the fab chef's meals the week before last (I think).

It involved cutting a potatoe in half and then slicing it almost all the way down, filling cuts with olive oil and sprinkling paprika on them. But I didn't write it down, and I can't find it here.

Does anyone know any more than me?

Thanks in advance,

MaryJane

MaryJane, it sounds like the 'hassleback' potatoes that Ed Baines cooked on Friday's show. I remember them as I was there in the studio and they looked wonderful. He made them with the spatchcock chicken. He melted oil in a pan and put in some paprika then the potatoes. If you do a search under programmes you will find it.
Hope this is the one you mean.

Hola MaryJane -

Sonia is right. Type Hasselback Potatoes in the search box at the top of the page, make sure Recipes is showing in the next box, then click on Go.

Ed's recipe is second on the list.

Hi MaryJane.......Houseguests, just one of the joys !!!!! of living in Spain, next year I'm going to tell everyone that I've got something horribly contagious, maybe that will put them off visiting. What part of Spain are you living in, are you anywhere near the rest of us on the Costa del Sol ? Sue

Thanks everyone! Tonight's BBQ will be perfect. Clearly the search engine isn't quite clever enough to know what I meant -- Hassleback, will always remember that now.

Nice tip about using the skewer, Trudi - I shall try that.

Sue - I'm in the Costa Blanca sat by the pool with my laptop. A bit hard to see the screen in this sunshine, but I persevere Smile

Try this in the same way with little new or salad potatoes, just cut them and bake in a tin in the oven about 3/4hour or longer depending on the size. Another tip put the potato on a wooken spoon as you slice them it saves going through too far.

I can attest to the professional results I achieved with the skewer trick! All 8 of us loved the result and this recipe now lives in my virtual recipe box.

Thanks everyone,
MaryJane
