Yes superfine sugar is caster sugar

Another name for superfine sugar is powdered sugar (American - did you guess?). One cup usually weighs about 8 ounces but if you have a recipe in cups just use the same cup. Better still invest in a set of measuring cups - invaluable when using American recipes. I love my cups.

Hey Rustie thanks for the welcome, got a falling apart American cook book called "The Joy of Cooking". Got it years ago from a friend and it seems to be a bible for American terminology. Why do they have to confuse us? any questions cheerfully answered.
