If you type steak into the search bar above and select recipes from the dropdown menu, you will find all the steak recipes on this site, 85 of them, not sure how many have a cream sauce but there is at least one.................

Thats my favourite too snoozy. Smile

Don't forget to ask him how he wants it cooked laura, that will make quite a difference to the finished dish. It could be anything from blue to very well done, so you need to make sure you know how he likes it cooked.

Good luck, hope it all goes well.

people will probably not like me for this but try a shop bought pepper sauce... We like it with strips of steak and onion cooked together, cook sauce in same pan and serve with rice. or you can use sauce poured over steak of chicken.. good luck

He eats steak and you don't? Not possible. A good lad must remain with a meat eater. You'll have problems in the future. Find a nice veggie guy. A nice guy who likes to graze like a rabbit. Carnivores and grass eaters will lead to problems. Don't think it's true? What about the kids one day? It's only a year lost. My advice is always true. Follow my advice, and you will never rue.

Well done you, laurasomerville, I think that cooking one thing for both of you rather than two seperate meals, on this occasion, is the best way to go.

But maybe in the future you could try a cream sauce, and put some on a steak for him, and some on a chicken breast for you?

could i suggest u make up a stock of carrot, leek, onion, celery, boil and then strain, reduce by half. u can then use this as a base for any sauce u like,be it a chicken , red meat or fish dish. you can add white wine and reduce then add cream. or red wine for red jus, or any booze, cheese, any flavours u like to suit.hope that helps.

Here is another idea.

I think I would start the chick off first on medium on one side, turn up the heat turn chick over and put steak in. 2-3 mins take chic out and keep warm. Finish off steak, put that to keep warm. Add some wine, red or white, to deglaze and reduce. Once reduced add chick back in with some mushrooms and cream and cook until sauce thickened. Add fresh herbs of choice.
