does anyone know an alternative to zest ( lemon,orange and lime ) which still gives a strong flavour.
i have lots of receipes i would love to try but i avoid because i cant bear the taste and texture of zest.
i once tried a lime cheesecake without using the zest and it didnt seem to taste of anything.
would be most grateful if anyone could help

Hi I dont know of an alternative but have you tried gently warming the liquid with large strips of zest in it and using that after taking zest out? or try using the juice added to the liquid (ie milk )?

I saw a programme where the zest was removed in large pieces, and dried in the oven , untill crisp, then crushed .
This would solve your dislike of the texture, while still giving you the flavour.

we have had this question before. you can buy citrus oils that are quite strong in flavour with out the texture...go into google, its there. kimi.

I do lemon, lime or orange and very strong stuff
it is too. equivilent to 88 limes etc to be used instead of zest or juice.
so email me from the website and i will arange if you wish. I know you cant find them easily hence why I sell them. Well not the good ones anyway.
