i have been trying for over three years to get this receipe.I have made about 10 attempts to make it by trying all the receipes i see for vanilla filling, but have been unable to find THEE vanilla filling. The one i want is the cream they use in cadburys mini-rolls, swiss rolls etc, i was informed that some of the local bakeries buy it in massive plastic tubs but i do not know if this is correct hope someone can help

Why not buy the mini rolls and squeeze out the filling darling? Does that make sense? No? Sheesh. You've invested way too much time in this. This I say, for you today.

I would have thought that the whole point of making your own cream filling is that it doesnt taste like the god awful stuff in shop cakes.

You wont be able to replicate the stuff they send out cos it will be full of additives and sugar replacements.
So I suggest you just tinker with the basics to get something close but much tastier.
And as Broilerplate indicated, really life is too short to worry about your vanilla cream filling.

hangelhug, have you tried asking at one of the local bakeries, just to see if they may let you have some, just for this one special cake? Or you never know, they may offer to make one for you.

Smile
